VW Camper 1979 Devon Moonraker Doubletop 2.0 litre RHD

I wasn't planning on selling my camper for a while but it's dawned on me that I'm not going to have time to enjoy it in the foreseeable future due to a change of job. I therefore thought that I would offer it for sale in case anyone is looking for a camper like this. At least someone might hopefully get to enjoy it this summer. rather than it sitting in my garage going nowhere!

In summary:

I've owned this camper for 2. 5 years. having bought it off a family friend. Since acquiring it. I've spent a lot of time and money on it. Work includes cutting out all rot from the underside of the van and replacing with new metal as and where necessary. I fitted a new Vege remanufactured (type 4) 2 litre engine last year  from Justkampers (just a few hundred miles ago). At the same time. I fitted a new clutch. clutch cable and new heat exchangers.  I've rebuilt/replaced the interior units which were crumbling away around the edges. I've also replaced the gearchange linkage and bushes so selecting gears now is as easy as it's going to get (for a VW camper). Being the 2. 0 litre. the brakes are servo assisted too. There are many other parts that I have bought and fitted during both my ownership  and that of the previous owner.

The ‘Devon Moonraker Doubletop' is immensely practical due to the fact it sleeps 4 adults in relative comfort. This particular camper also features the following:

Full camping electrical system with leisure battery charging. RCD and MCBs etc

Fiamma bike rack for two bikes

Original canvas awning (brown/beige - very 70s!)

 Good tyres all round – new Continentals on the front last year

Electrolux fridge

Gas stove and grill

Sink with water pump

The camper is also fitted with a Toad Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser.

A radio/CD player is fitted with Bluetooth handsfree and ipod input jack.

All the locks work from one key except for the passenger door (which I don't have a key for).

The camper is let down only by rust bubbles coming through on the offside front panel (see pics).

I have receipts for work done dating back to the year 2000. There is an original owners handbook and workshop manual too.

I have receipts for the parts I've purchased and fitted during my ownership totalling over £3000.

The MOT expires on 30th May 2014 and it is taxed until 31st December 2013 . The V5C is present and the vehicle is registered in my name.

In all. this is a very nice practical and useable campervan ready to be enjoyed.
