1965 AUSTIN HEALEY WHITE

I am selling my BJ8 Austin Healey after spending the last 10 months restoring it. The reason for selling is that I am purchasing a historic race car to get ready for 2014. The car has only done 2500 since completion 3 months ago and is an absolute delight to drive. The car has been rebuilt to fast road specification but on my wifes request we kept the standard visual BJ8 look for touring. Immediately on completion and due to utter confidence in the work carried out we took the car through France and Belgium (picture is in Ypres Belgium 8 weeks ago). it was faultless and a lot of fun.  On top of the initial cost of the car £35k I have spent in excess of £42k on the rebuild.  This is a very quick Healey indeed and cannot be compared to a standard Healey. EXTERIOR

Paintwork is very good indeed with just a few stone chips.

The car has a very interesting history that I will pass on to the new owner and started with the enquiry as to why the car has original aluminium wings all around!

New chrome grill. surround. side flashes. headlight bezels. badges. mirror. fuel cap. washers and windscreen wipers.

New lightweight aluminium fuel tank and fitments

New 72 spoke wire wheels with £800 of Michelin period high speed tyres.

To sum up the car is a very early BJ8 (hence front sidelights). it is very quick and sounds absolutely wonderful. Rear sports exhaust comes with the car if you prefer the look along with all original fitments including the steel head. manifold etc if you prefer the originality. The screen has a very slight delamination however I also have a brand new Pilkington windscreen with all new rubbers ready to be fitted that will come with the car. There is absolutely no rust on this car and the underside is superb. I have a small ramp in my garage that I can elevate for inspection to prove. The car is in a humidity controlled heated garage. I deemed the car far too good paint wise to worry about this and although not perfect I was still surprised when the car won the NFC Austin Healey BJ8 concourse last month. I have probably forgotten many other things replaced and it would have been far easier just to list the handful of items left! May I sincerely request that you do not waste my time or yours on silly offers or expecting to drive without full payment in cash!! If it does not sell then I will happily keep it as im certainly not desperate to sell. I rebuilt the car to tick all the boxes which it does in spades. its quick. sounds fantastic. it tours like a dream. and turns heads with the statements like "Oh wow. I always wanted a big Healey"!!
