Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car. in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight. in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional example of this original family owned until last year 1983 Ford Mustang 5. 0L 4BBL H. O V8 GLX Convertible. This is a very rare model. only 993 GT 5. 0L Convertibles were built in 1983 and reportedly the GLX Convertibles ordered with the High Output 5. 0L V8 outnumbered the GT 5. 0L Convertibles 5 to 1. and this car was also specially factory ordered by its original owners with the highly desirable 5 speed manual transmission! The car will be sold with all its original owners documentation from when new including the original owners original purchase order. The car boasts very striking 'Bright Red' color paint with Black GT markings and sports stripes is in simply spectacular condition as is its original 'Opal White & Red interior' color combination with red carpet and color keyed dashboard and door panels and a still as new white power soft top and with the car boasting only 41K original actual miles!

The car has reportedly always been garaged since new by its fanatical original owners and obviously was always pampered and cherished - never driven hard or abused and please note that it will be sold with its original spare wheel and jack in the trunk and that it has no accident history with its original paint and it boasts a clean Carfax report.

The 3rd generation Mustang's were produced from 1978 to 1993. Built on Ford's legendary 'Fox platform'. they evolved through a number of sub-models. trim levels. and drivetrain combinations during its production life. It underwent several changes for 1987 and for a time seemed destined for replacement with a front wheel drive Mazda platform before company executives were swayed by overwhelming consumer excitement and demand to keep the 'Fox' body platform. Enthusiasts group the generation into two segments: the initial 1979-1986 cars. with their quad headlight arrangement and the later 1987-1993 cars with their aero composite headlamped front fascia styling. Production ended with the introduction of the 4th generation Mustang for the 1994 model year.
While most of the original 'Fox bodied' Mustang was carried over into late 1982 for the 1983 year. there were some significant changes and improvements on the then five-year-old 'Fox-platform' model. The front end was restyled with a more rounded nose and a V-shaped grille which resulted in the headlamp openings being revised to follow the grille shape and the big news for 1983 was that Ford added a Convertible to the Mustang line up. this mid-year introduction was the first true Mustang convertible in a decade. On the performance front. the 5. 0 V8 bumped up to 205 horsepower.

The majority of these convertibles were equipped with the new 3. 8 L V6 in GLX form. although 993 5. 0L V8 GT models and a few GLX Convertibles were also specially ordered with the 5. 0L V8 High Output 205HP engine. The Mustang 5. 0L High Output GT received a four-barrel carburetor and a new intake manifold. bringing power to 205 HP. The Mustang GLX models also had dual bright remote-control mirrors. bright rocker panel moldings. woodgrain-insert four-spoke steering wheel. map pockets in the driver's door trim panel. and a light group. GLX Convertibles added power brakes. dual black remote-control mirrors. black rocker moldings. tinted glass. and most were ordered with an automatic transmission.

In summary. you will look long and hard to find a finer looking or driving example of this beautiful and very rare legendary 5. 0L V8 GLX Convertible with only 41K original miles for the ultimate and most likely fastest in it's class of all 1980's American muscle cars! These 3rd generation early year 'Fox bodied' models are now starting to prove quite collectible and desirable amongst Mustang enthusiasts - get in early with this fine 5. 0L Convertible example with the very desirable 5 speed manual transmission and with only one family owner since new!
