Although most R107s are extremely well built and collectable. the most desirable and collectable of the R107's are the early production cars with its features – mainly short or “Euro” bumpers. and higher horse-power than its latter cousins. It is also the first V8 powered two-seater to be built at the Stuttgart. Germany factory. Now that the W113 230/250/280SL's have become priced out of sight. here comes the early 450SL. As recently as the mid 1990's. and early 2000's you could pick up a nice condition 1971 280SL Pagoda Roadster for around $20. 00. Almost in the blink of an eye. that's what a basket case now goes for - with good condition examples regularly selling north of $75k and more. Part of what makes early 107 SL's so desirable to Collectors and Mercedes enthusiasts is the increased U. S. emissions and safety requirements starting in 1974 causing later models to be fitted with special crash bumpers and emissions control systems resulting in reduced overall look. performance and horse-power. Beside more powerful engine. this beauty also features more elegant European style “short” bumpers. and they make this Mercedes look absolutely stunning!     About the car:    It's rare and highly desirable Gray Blue Metallic paint (Paint Code #906G graublau) has a beautiful shine and luster. and coupled with dark blue Interior this SL looks stunning!!! Upon closer inspection there are some minor paint blemishes. mainly due to its age. but nothing that is taking away from overall beauty of this car. $500 Non-Refundable Deposit via PayPal is due within 24 hours after the end of the auction. and winning bidder MUST contact us within this period to arrange payment and shipping details.

The balance (cash in person. money order. bank loan or certified check. wire transfer) is due within 3 daysafter the end of the auction!! All financial transactions must be completed before vehicle delivery.

Fees:

We do charge $185 documentary fee that will be added to the winning bid amount. This fee is used to cover any administrative and paperwork expenses. overnighting the documents to your door. and issuing a 30 days temporary tag.

 All buyers are responsible for all state. county. city taxes and fees. as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered in.

Florida Residents will be responsible for Florida Sales tax. Tag & Title fees at the time of the sale. and out-of-state Residents will be more than likely responsible for their states sales tax. tag & Title fees in their own state.

A temporary tag can be issued if needed to transport the vehicle back to your home state. Temp tags are good for 30 days.
