1946 Mercury Convertible Street Rod

   I'm listing this 1946 Mercury for a friend that isn't to familiar with eBay. He is retired now and is downsizing his car collection. He has a home in Alabama now and is selling his home in Ohio. He has owned this car since 1999. He purchased the Mercury already restored to original and decided that wasn't what he wanted.
   The Mercury has Maroon bc/cc paint. It is a very solid car with no rust from his description and from what I can see in taking these pictures for this auction. The floors . runk and frame are very solid. The glass was replaced when it was restored to original and shows some bubbling in the vent glass edge area. The windshield has a little light discoloring in the right lower corner. You really have to look for it to see it. The interior is a tan leather out of a Lincoln. It has high quality canvass top that really adds to the look of this color combination. It has power bucket seats with lumbar that works. It has Vintage Air and Heat system installed. He installed a Walker radiator to keep it running cool. It has a Ron Francis wiring harness. all light work as they should. He had Classic Gauges installed in a new Wabbit dash. It also has a CD player with a 10 Disc changer in the trunk with remote. The trunk has tan carpeting that matches the front. The Maroon paint is glossy and smooth with just a few small ships from the car being driven. He didn't build this car for show purposes. he built it to drive and enjoy. It has a louvered hood on the car at the present. but he also has a smooth hood that has been painted that goes with the car. The bumpers were plated when the car was restored to original and show some age around the bumper guards. They are straight but just not freshly plated when he turned the car to a street rod. It has always been garaged. and never in the rain. He had a Mustang II front end installed with power steering along with power disc brakes. The rear end is a Nova 10 bolt open . The wheels are Crager 30 spoke wires with Firestone 215/70/15 tires. He installed a new crate 350 engine along with  new 350 turbo transmission. The car runs and drives great. The top is not power at the present. it is manual. The original pump is still on the car but not functioning presently. The top does go up and down. you have to do it manually.
     This is a nice car and you can't build it for the reserve he has on it. It always gets thumbs up and comments when he is out or at cruise-ins.
     He has the car registered in Alabama. all he has is a Bill of Sale. He does have all the necessary papers for anyone to get a title when purchased.       Sorry! I forgot to mention in original ad description. The mileage on the odometer is more than actually on car. The odometer almost registers twice the mileage than it is actually driven. It has approximately 8. 00 miles on it presently.
