THE CONQUEST SALOON WAS RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC IN 1953 AS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE DAIMLER CONSORT . UT WAS SHORTER AND LIGHTER WITH BETTER PERFORMANCE . THE DAIMLER CONQUEST WAS MEANT TO BE AN AFFORDABLE DAIMLER AT £1. 66. IT WAS A PEDIGREE WITH PACE . T A REASONABLE PRICE AND STILL HAD LUXURIOUS . ELL-APPOINTED TRADITIONAL WOOD -GRAIN AND LEATHER INTERIORS. ACTUAL CONSTRUCTION WAS BY ANOTHER B. S. A. SUBSIDIARY . 'CARBODIES'  . THE OPEN TWO- SEATER CONQUEST ROADSTER FIRST APPEARED AT THE MOTOR SHOW IN 1953 WITH THE TUNED ENGINE LATER KNOWN AS THE CENTURY ENGINE . THE ROADSTER WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL 1954 . THE DAIMLER CONQUEST CENTURY . ELEASED IN 1954 . AS THE BEST SELLER OF THE RANGE WITH 4. 18 PRODUCED AND BOASTED 100 HORSEPOWER and . presumably downhill . 100 MILES AN HOUR  HENCE THE CENTURY . HOWEVER . HE ROADSTER WAS DROPPED FROM PRODUCTION IN 1955 AS THE DROPHEADS HAD OUTSOLD THEM BY 3:1. AT THE 1955 MOTOR SHOW A NEW DROPHEAD 4-SEATER AND DROPHEAD COUPE VERSION OF THE TWO- SEATER ROADSTER WERE INTRODUCED . THIS MK. II CONQUEST ROADSTER DROPHEAD COUPE HAD A SIDEWAYS -FACING SINGLE REAR SEAT . AKING THE CAR A TWO OR THREE SEATER WITH WIND- UP WINDOWS IN PLACE OF THE CLIP ON SIDE CURTAINS OF THE CONTINUING MK. II OPEN TWO -SEATER CONQUEST ROADSTER 
This is a very rare and collectable Daimler conquest Century New Drophead coupe MK . II  DJ 254 is one of only 54 built . as first owned by a Mr Arthur crisp from Kent in 1956 . ( Now only 46 left in the world known to exist )
she still retains her original engine and wilson pre-selector gearbox  which still runs great

Still retaining its original engine and gearbox ( Wilson pre-selector gearbox ) it was purchased in the early 2000's as a restoration project but not started until 2005 when the car changed ownership to the previous owner.
The previous owner purchased the car in a half restored state . When he started to finish the restoration he found that it had not been carried out to his standard so he has redone what he felt was necessary to complete the restoration of this now fine example of a rare Daimler conquest century Drophead Coupe .
This mark. II conquest roadster drophead- coupe has a sideways -facing single rear seat . making the car a two or three seater with wind up windows in place of the side curtains of the continuing Mark 2 open two -seater conquest roadster.
Finished in maroon and cream with matching interior and a new roof covering .
