Offered for sale is our gorgeous 1967 Austin Healey. Mark 3000. Phase 2. BJ8; manufactured in mid October of '67. two months before production shut down. Exceptionally original. 86. 00 original miles. with numbers matching. This is a private offering. we are the 3rd owner. This vehicle  is THE most desirable and collectable Big Healey model ever offered by Austin Healey and is a total blast behind the wheel.

The VIN #. It is HBJ8L/41752. We do NOT have a British Heritage Certificate on the car at this time.

The color is factory color correct Healey Ice Blue Metallic. available only during the last half of 1967. with original Navy blue interior. Other than some of the most minor of surface rust on parts of the frame. the car is completely rust free. The body does have some minor road paint nicks not visible in these pictures. but overall the finish is excellent. All brightwork is very good to excellent. 95% original. Stainless steel Abarth exhaust. manifold to tailpipes. Original banjo style steering wheel and burl walnut dash. ORIGINAL interior.

The car is structurally solid and original in both the body and the undercarriage. and mechanically very strong. The engine. trans. overdrive and rear end. matching numbers. were completely rebuilt just prior to my Dad's purchase in '96. Oversize valves. hotter cam. bored and stroked with new rings. etc. All numbers match and are original to the car. We have complete repair receipts back to '81. Starts and runs without any hesitation or smoke. the numbers matching engine idles consistently and pulls with “bugs on the teeth grin” BJ8 power. The car shifts smoothly through all gears without any grinding or slipping. overdrive is excellent and the car drives and brakes straight.

Also notable: The radiator is original. the craftsman that made it etched his signature in the brass; after stripping for a repaint (to original black). we discovered the brass and decided we liked the flash. It always draws positive comments at local shows. Obviously. the finned aluminum racing style rocker cover is not original and has been changed out. This was done prior to our ownership. We do NOT have the original rocker cover. The radiator fan has been changed to the more robust 6 blade aftermarket. We have the original 4 blade. The car also has a Pertronix ignition system under the cap. replacing the original point system. The coil has been upgraded as well. And we added a non Healey small recovery bottle to the overflow hose on the radiator. There is a grounding problem (I think) with the gas gauge; it usually works with tap. tap. tap persuasion. Original working factory AM radio. Aftermarket bullet racing mirrors. Some rubber gaskets (i. e. windscreen. etc) should be replaced at some point.

Soft top is excellent. near new. tight fitting with clear. soft. rear window. Boot cover is excellent. Genuine Lucas Driving lights (that work!. unusual for Lucas!). high quality aftermarket rear boot luggage rack.

The original painted wheels and tires were swapped out for the top of the line Dayton 72 spoke chrome wire wheels with Yokohama Performance 185 70R 15 89V tires as pictured. New knock offs and spindles at swap out. The tires have less than 1000 miles on them.

Included in the sale are the original painted wire wheels with new Michelins.

Aftermarket hardtop with the purchase. This fiberglass top I believe was painted by the previous owner in lacquer and the paint has bubbled. Sand it off and repaint in acrylic enamel for restoration You can see the plexiglas rear window is clear. We did not use this top.

Housed in a heated/ac garage since our purchase. The car is a high driver. not a trailer queen. It does need some cosmetics. particularly in the original interior. To the best of our knowledge. the car has never been in a serious accident. Additional photos to serious interested parties upon request.

Also included in the purchase:
- Authorized reprint owners manual
- Original shop manual
- Aftermarket hard top (needs to be stripped and repainted)
- Near new tonneau cover (broken zipper)
- Two boxes of misc. parts. some very hard to find
- Original copper knock off hammer. jack and leather strap down for the spare tire
- New battery under 3 year warranty
- In garage type Dust cover
Even a Union Jack flag for your garage!

You will LOVE this car! Thanks for looking!
