This 1953 Hudson Hornet Coupe was purchased new by my father-in-law in Dickinson. North Dakota and has remained in the family almost the entire time. It was the family car until about 1969. From 1969 until 1990 it was parked in a secure facility and the engine was started several times a year. In the early 1990's. my father-in-law painted the exterior but left it otherwise intact. He drove it to some area car shows where this Hornet always drew a great deal of attention. My father-in-law died in 2000 at which time we assumed control of the Hudson. We re-built the brakes. The car was sold for about 1 ½ years to a Hudson enthusiast who overhauled the engine. replaced bearings as needed. re-built the carburetors and installed an electric fuel pump. The car is road ready! The family purchased the Hudson again in 2005. It is in a secure storage facility and is driven several times each summer. It starts well. The Hydro-matic Transmission shifts smoothly. The interior is completely original. The Twin-H 308 cubic inch engine runs well. The glass is not perfect but intact. There is absolutely no rust on this car. It has been in Western North Dakota. a dry environment. the since being purchased new. There are oil leaks and the tires need to be replaced. Other than these issues. this car is SUPERIOR in its class!
