Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.1) based on 428 votes

This beautiful late-production 1963 TR3B is in mint condition with only a little over 4. 00 miles after completion of its full frame-off restoration in 2010. It is part of my British car collection. registered and insured in my name. I drive it locally a few miles each year to ensure that it continues to run in top condition.

I have detailed receipts of the entire restoration project which started with a clean. solid original car and finished with an outstanding example of show-quality craftsmanship.

The deep gloss paint. chrome. glass and finishes are in excellent condition. perhaps better than new. No smoke at startup. no unusual noises from the engine or drive train. This TR3B drives as a new vehicle of its era would. powerful and beautiful.

The paint inside and out (and under) is in near perfect condition with no noticeable flaws. hips. dents. scratches. etc. The engine bay is spotless clean. The chrome. glass. and all rubber was all restored with the rest of the car and remains in outstanding condition. The interior is beautiful and in excellent condition (see pictures). Original steering system has been restored; as well as the Jaeger gauges.

Mechanically and electrically the car runs perfectly: gauges. lights. wipers. switches. latches. horn. fans. etc. all work. As part of its restoration. all mechanical and electrical systems were completely redone (including engine. transmission. brakes. etc. ). The carburetors are perfectly synchronized and tuned; the engine (2. 38 cc. 105 hp) runs strong with plenty of torque. starts easily. no smoke. no oil leaks. no unusual noises. The four-speed synchronized transmission shifts smoothly. no unusual noises either. A few modern mechanical and electrical components were added for the purpose of increasing reliability: electronic ignition. electrical cooling fan. and a stainless steel heat shield (between carburetors and exhaust manifold). They can be easily removed if complete originality is wanted.

This beautiful TR3B comes complete with its convertible top. tonneau cover. hoodstick cover. side curtains. and winter storage cover (not shown on pictures) - all in excellent condition.

Documentation and miscellaneous items include : British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate. restoration receipts. copy of previous Certificate of Title. and. as shown on pictures: original VIN tag and key. original tools. and original California Registration Tag.

This is a numbers-matching collectible. The actual Engine Number. Body Number and Car/VIN Number on the car precisely match its factory records as shown on its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate. Supportive documentation/pictures are available upon request.

I welcome inspections. test drives. appraisers. and buyer's expert representatives looking to give an expert opinion of the car's condition and value.

Bid with confidence.

A few words about the TR3B model for those not entirely familiar with it. It is taken from wikipedia https://en. wikipedia. org/wiki/Triumph_TR3

The "Triumph TR3B" is an unofficial name given to the final version of the TR3. which was produced in 1962. It was offered concurrent with the TR4. which started production in 1961. The "TR3B" was a special short-production run in response to dealer concerns that the buying public might not welcome the TR4.

It had the body of the later "TR3A". Two series were produced: one with a commission number preceded by TSF of which 530 were produced; one with commission numbers preceded by TCF of which 2804 were produced. Both series were partly produced in parallel. The TSF series were identical to the last run of TR3As. so with a two-litre engine but already with the TR4 all-synchromesh gear box. The TCF series has the 2. 138-litre TR4 engine. The engine is a straight-four. push rod. three-bearing. with wet liners. It has 9:1 compression and is very rigid. It was fitted with two H6 SU carburettors. It has 105 hp (78 kW) at 4. 50 rpm and 172 N·m (127 lbf·ft) of torque at 3. 50 rpm. It gets around 20 miles per US gallon (12 L/100 km; 24 mpg-imp) to 30 miles per US gallon (7. 8 L/100 km; 36 mpg-imp). The top speed is limited to about 110 mph (177 km/h) by the gear ratio. unless it has overdrive. Electrically triggered overdrive (Laycock-de-Normanville Type A) was available as an option and operates on second. third. and fourth gears. Appearance is identical to the late US-version of the "TR3A". with the same wider head light rims. for the rest very similar to the TR3. except for a wider grille and door handles. It weighs 2. 37 lb (969 kg).
