1969 Dodge A100 / A108 Van

This auction is for one 1969 Dodge A108 Custom Sportsman Van. This van is probably the most solid. best running A series van available for sale right now. I bought this van almost 2 years ago in California and it came with over $13. 00 in repair and parts receipts from the previous owner! He wanted a good running and driving van to enjoy and cruise in and spared no expense in doing so. Here is a list of the items repaired and or replaced:

33. 28 miles: Rebuilt A727 Torque Flight automatic transmission. rebuilt CR7 torque converter. new kick down band.

34. 98 miles: New re-manufactured 318 V8 long block. new motor mounts. new water pump and timing chain cover. Cleaned intake manifold. valve covers. oil pan and installed new gaskets.

35. 22 miles: Reconditioned radiator. new cap. radiator and heater hoses. new heater core. heater control valve. thermostat and reconditioned heater blower motor.

35. 27 miles: Repair and replace all wiring from engine to all gauges and ignition.

37. 62 miles: 4 new Firestone Destination P235/70R15 tires. 4 new shocks. left and right outer tie rod ends. leaf shackle kit. front and rear wheel cylinders. front and rear brake shoes and an alignment.

38. 58 miles: Tune up for inspection including new plugs. wires. cap. rotor. points. condenser and adjust timing.

40. 70 miles: New carburetor. fuel filter and air filter.

Also included was a new windshield. battery. starter relay. and a back up light switch. This brings the total to $13. 10. 05! It's no wonder why the van runs and drives as good as it does. It practically has a new drive train. It also sounds great with it's true dual exhaust!

The van now has 44. 77 miles. I drove about 3. 00 carefree miles these last 2 summers. never a problem or breakdown. No smoke. no leaks. The van runs cool unlike may of these old flat front vans because of it's new cooling components. Even on the hottest days in traffic. the temp gauge never went past the middle. Everything works as it should except for the radio. One key operates all door locks and the ignition.

The body had a respray many years ago and still looks pretty good. In fact. I think it has a perfect "patina" look going for it.   It does have it's fair share of bumps. bruises. scrapes and light rust. but it's rock solid frame and floors more than make up for any of the body's short comings. Trust me. this van gets attention everywhere it goes. The vintage US State water decals on the rear windows are just too cool! The two pop-out windows on each side are great for ventilation. There is also a trailer receiver hitch welded to the frame. a bonus on a van of this era. The van will also come with the original side step (see photo) which is not installed at the moment.

The interior is pretty much original. The front seats have been recovered. the 2 rear seats are still wearing their original covers. The front seats have working original seat belts.

I also will be including a box of miscellaneous spare parts such as door and window handles. hardware. trim. tune up parts. etc.  

All in all this A108 Custom Sportsman is just a great looking. running and driving van. I always wanted one and this one fit the bill just fine. I'm only selling it because I'm ready for my next toy. It will be sold with a bill of sale. a copy of the current registration. the California title and the expired California plates. RI doesn't title vehicles over 10 years old so check your local laws for any paperwork you may need.
