Up for sale is my 1968 Corvette. This is a 327 Cubic Inch 300 Horsepower car. It is a original numbers matching drive train. The stock intake and carburetor have been upgraded to an Elderbrock intake and a Holley double pumper carb. That was done before I bought the car. I have owned this car for the last 11 Years. The information I got with the car makes me the fourth owner. The first two were from DallasTexas area the third was from North Carolina. I bought this car shortly after I started working at the Corvette Assembly plant in Bowling GreenKentucky. The odometer shows the car to have less than 55. 00 miles on it. According to the information I have I believe those to be first time miles.

1968 was the first year for the C3 Corvette. This was one of the first C3s to leave the Saint Louis Assembly plant that year. most likely the first day of production. The Vin makes this the 83rd car. The car has many unique features that define the 68 from the rest of the C3 Corvettes. The Sting Ray badges on the side of the car were not on the car. The car was unofficially known as the Shark (after the Mako Shark show car). The center gauge cluster has a different finish from the other years. The doors open by pushing on the door lock button. 68 was the last year that the ignition switch was on the dash (it didn't return to the dash until the C5 Corvette came along). The tail lights and backup lights are unique to the 68 corvette. 1968 was the last year for the 327 cubic inch motor.

Since I have had this car I have replaced all of the shocks rebuilt the suspension with all new urethane bushings. I also replaced the ball joints at that time then I put on stainless brake calibers and new brake pads. I replaced all of the hoses under the hood and put in a new heater core. I replaced all of the universal joints put 4 new tires on the car and had it aligned. I added an electric choke to the carburetor. I removed the rusty headers and replaced them with stock exhaust manifolds and a complete exhaust system. Inside I had the stock radio rebuilt. I replaced the clock with a new clock now it keeps correct time. I replaced some of worn panels in the car. The panels behind the seats were stamped “Pilot Job”. I saved them and they will go with the car. The car was painted Torch Red when I got it. I had it repainted. At the same time I replaced all of the weather stripping on the car and I also replaced the convertible top.

Everything on this car works. The gauges work. the headlights pop up. the windshield wipers the windshield washers. The radio even the clock keeps perfect time.
