Jaguar Xjs. Lynx Spyder. 3. 6 manual. convertible.

 

You are looking at / bidding on my 1987 Lynx Spider XJS 3. 6 manual convertible.

 

This car has not been on the since the 1990s & been in storage but it is now recommissioned & now taxed & tested & back on the road.

The car is a full 4 seat. well 2+2 car & built by Lynx prior to Jaguar launching the factory convertible.

Lynx did this by taking a XJS coupe & converting it to a drop head.

When jaguar launched its own drop head it was only a 2 seater  the 2 + 2 didn't come along until the very last couple of years of the XJS production.

All Jaguar XJs factory cars (until the very last produced cars) were all V12. Autos.

This Lynx car being a 3. 6 & manual.

The supposed story behind this car is it was in the 1990s subject to an insurance claim (this will show on an HPI check) & dispute hence the car spent a number of years untouched in storage. It was the purchased by a friend of mine & he then stored it untouched for 6 or 7 years until I bought it from him.

The car was subject to a VIC check & this it duly passed. nbsp;(This should show on an HPI check) We do not know why the car had a claim against it. nbsp; can only assume it was either stolen/recovered or been wet. nbsp; it certainly not been damaged.

The mileage on the car reads ONLY   13. 72 miles   & we have no reason to doubt this. every thing on the car shows lack of ware . BUT  we cannot guarentee the mileage as no docs or history to confirm this.

I have the V5.    &   the  VIC certificate

The car has a full 12 months MOT & is taxed until NOV 2013

So taxed & tested. drive away.

 

The car has very nice cream leather seats with blue piping. nbsp; just needs a bit of colour restore. /strong>

The loose carpets need replacing.

The bodywork is very good but one or 2 minor paint marks need attention. nbsp; see photos

The roof is very good & is lined in blue suede.

The car is fitted with the full Lynx body kit & 16 inch lattice wheels with good tyres.

 

THE ROOF.     The roof works up & down but travels too fast so care needs to be taken when opening or shutting.

It is thought it has a pressure reducer in line ? that needs attention.

AIR CON. nbsp;  The aircon is not tested as it needs a belt on the pump. the belt was removed when a new water pump was fitted

& has not been replaced.

The fuel gauge & temp gauge is not working. nbsp;  The fuel gauge is it needs a new sender unit. nbsp;  as works we shorted

 

This car has the making to be a beautiful  rare car with very little additional work to do. & with its drop head stance . body kit. slit exhausts. private plate & metallic blue paint. nbsp;   Just stands out from the others.

 

This is a super rare car & I'll be sorry to let it go But need some building work so that's that.

Further to a few enquires. nbsp;  the car is on the road. nbsp; taxed & tested. nbsp;  I insured it no problems. /p>

One further point/fault. nbsp;  as I stated the temp gauge. & fuel gauge is not working. nbsp; now the oil press gauge is not working. nbsp; we have checked the senders & they seem to be fine.

The oil press was about 3/4 gauge. nbsp; the fault is most likely the dash pod. nbsp; common fault on XJSs / dry joint an the gauge circuit board.

Got the oil pressure back reading. all good   60+ psi
