1973 Datsun 240Z Almost Original 63,000 mile Survivor

HISTORY:

This 240Z was originally delivered on 08/06/1973 to Spokane. Washington by Beaudry Motors. Inc out of Idaho.   Build date of 12/1972.  The 240Z then made the trip to Morrison CO. in 1996 with 52. 00 miles on the odometer.   The Datsun then made its way to Minnesota in March of 2002.   Currently shows a true and accurate 63. 052 miles.   This 240z has led a very pampered life.   No rust ever. no accidents and has never seen a winter. One repaint in the factory color in the early 90's.   Paint is still in excellent condition with no dents. scratches or bubbles.   Has never had rust issues and retains ALL of its original sheet metal.

INTERIOR:

Carpets. Seats. Door and Interior panels are original and in excellent condition with no rips or tears.   Center console has a small crack next to choke lever.   Years ago. I replaced the factory under padding with new rubber/foam cut using the originals as a template.   The original under padding is in very good condition and has been saved.   While the carpets and pads were out. I removed the body/floor rubber plugs and cleaned up the edges and applied POR 15.   The Clock has been upgraded to an electronic version.   There is one crack in the dash. Coco Mats are new.  All body rubber is original and in very good condition with the exception of the rear hatch surround (has a tear).  A/C blows cold. everything works.

The jack and related tools are complete and in excellent condition.   The spare tire is original and looks like it has never been down.  

Two Original Keys. owners manual. warranty/service book and original owners warranty card are included.

BODY:

The 240Z was repainted in the factory color over 20 years ago.   In all my years as a collector I have never bought a freshly painted car.   You have no Idea of the quality of the body condition or the expertise of the body man/painter. After 20 plus years. the paint/body is still in excellent condition with no dents. scratches or bubbles.   Has never had rust issues and retains ALL of its original sheet metal.

Bright trim is almost perfect.   Bumpers are in very good condition with some chrome fading on the rear near the exhaust and a small dent in the front.   All Glass is original and in very good condition.  

WHEELS AND TIRES:

15 Inch Panasport Racing rims are mounted on Yokohama tires.   These are REAL Panasports that are perfect. no scratches curb rash or paint scuffs.   The Yokohamas have lots of tread but they have some sidewall cracks due to age.   Included with the sale will be the factory steel wheels. tires and hubcaps.

ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN:

63. 52 actual miles.   Very early in its life. the later modeled Hitachi SUs were replaced with the earlier version 3 screwed SUs. very common because of the problems with the later carburetors.   An electronic fuel pump and regulator was added some time after the carb replacement.   Redline fluids were used in the diff and tranny.   Transmission. differential rubber mounts and shifter bushings were replaced with OEM parts. Other than fluids. filters and the work above. the engine and transmission and related components. are original to the car.   The 240Z runs and drives great.

SUSPENSION: 

Everything with the exception of the Suspension Techniques sway bars is original to the car.

EXHAUST:

This is one area of the 240Z that may need attention in the future.   Exhaust is original and has a small hole in the pipe going into the muffler.   It is very difficult to hear the leak.
