Unfinished Project.
Unfortunately ill health forces sale of much loved Stag.
This car is probably the best STOCK "RUST FREE STAG" in the America's and deserves better treatment than I'm able to give it.
So far I have rebuilt the engine as I bought it as a non runner but very impressed by the lack of body/chassis rust.
Being such a low mileage car it needed only a re-bore and pistons. shells etc. I also lapped the valves and changed the timing chains for the German ones.
The cooling system is the Achilles heel of the Stag. so I replaced it with the Davies Craig external variable speed with the heat soak facility EWP.
The engine now runs beautifully. and sound great with the new stainless steel exhaust system.
Other work done includes a new brake system including the master cylinder and rebuilt slave cylinders.
All bearings :- wheels. transaxle. electric motors etc. Inspected replaced where needed.
New fuel lines and serviced carburetors.
The soft top is almost in new condition with an easily repaired 5in tear on a seam in an area not in line of sight. Yes the rear plastic windshield needs replacement.
The interior apart from the piping on the top of the drivers seat and one small blemish on the passenger seat. is in very good condition. It needs new carpets and sound deadening.
All chrome is in good and straight condition.
As you can see it just needs a coat of paint. Open to painting it for you at cost to your specs. my friend has 30 years experience and is a great painter.
