1935 PLYMOUTH

RUMBLE SEAT COUPE

ENGINE #PJ135595

This beautiful PJ Deluxe Coupe was finished in 2004

after a 20 year body-off restoration.

The owner passed in 2007 and the widow is now

ready to let go of this piece of family history.

The 1935 Plymouth paint color is Burgundy. nbsp;duplicated by

PPG and painted professionally.  There are no dents

or other damage to the body. paint or chrome on this PJ.

There is no scuffing or even the faintest pitting on the

bumpers. guards. nbsp;hub caps. fogs. headlights. spots. nbsp;

door handles or the ship radiator ornament!

The cloisonné medallions on the grill. tire cover and luggage

rack were perfectly restored by the late John Webster.

You can see that the builder was fond of accessories!

Original factory accessories include: clock. emergency brake extension. nbsp;

wheel trim rings. locking gas cap. Mopar Philco radio. nbsp;

Plymouth” script heater. dual thru-fender horns. nbsp;

welled right front fender. fender skirts and a luggage rack!

The chrome hood handles and chrome taillight stands are

seldom-seen but are actual factory options listed in the 1935 parts book!

Original “Plymouth” script lenses are in the taillights.

Aftermarket accessories include turn signals. nbsp;

Arrow fog lights. wolf whistle. defroster fan. flashlight. nbsp;

dual Mobilite spotlights. dual side-view mirrors

and the fold-out. tail-gate picnic trunk.

The strong-running 201CID engine is coupled to a 1935

Chrysler overdrive rebuilt by George Ashe. The “OD” knob

 and cable can be seen attached to the steering column

with the original factory bracket.   The rear gear is

the stock 4. 12. Mileage since the restoration

is less than 5000 miles. This PJ was driven to the

Indianapolis Plymouth Owners Club national meet

and joined other PJs on the 1200 mile PJ Journey tour

of the Michigan shoreline in 2002.

The tires are 6:50 x 16 Coker radials.

Sorry. there were no photos available of the

engine compartment or undercarriage. I can only say

that the under-hood area is still clean and in proper order.

The undercarriage has no damage since the

body-off restoration. However. it does have some dust

and oil film from the 5000 miles driven.
