1976 CHEVROLET GMC CORVETTE RED

This is a classic corvette C3 the last of the real badged Stingrays which I have owned for a while. it is in original red with the deluxe white trim option interior of the day. The car has the original engine and gearbox. numbers matching which is important with any classic car which perform very well. It is a rare factory manual which is harder to find in these C3 cars which to me makes for a more exciting drive. The previous owner had the car nineteen years and looked after it well and garaged it all that time and hardly used it. I bought it with the intention of restoring it all the way through but other interest have led me to sell as i just do not use it and would like for a enthusiast to take it to the next level rather than it sitting in my garage doing nothing. When i bought the car it was and is very solid and did not require any welding it was just showing its age and would benefit now with a good respray as the paint has faded in places and its generally tired after all its fourty years old. The interior needs sorting door cards replacing or repairing and seats restoring most of everything else is good including an un cracked dashboard. I set about restoring it and this is what it's had done so far there is probably a lot I will forget but I will try and cover the main areas.

 Refurbed or replaced the following.  this is a short list as its hard to remember certainly its allot of man hours and money that I can remember.  Engine taken out stripped and painted with new gaskets all the way through bearings inspected all very good probably replaced at some point before . front and rear oil seals replaced now runs very smooth with good oil pressure and no oil leaks. New engine sump . motor mounts. all new service parts. leads plugs etc list goes on and on.
Gearbox  fully rebuilt with a rebuild kit from America containing new seals. gaskets and baulk rings all changing gear very smoothly with no oil leaks clutch wasn't very old when inspected as the previous owner had replaced it. Excellent tyresHolly carb and inlet Manifold by previous owner and four branch manifolds and custom made exhaust.
Diff stripped and cleaned replaced seals and painted no oil leaks.
Front suspension and rear suspension all dismantled and cleaned. painted and refurbished any components bushings replaced etc from America. Polly bushings all through with new shocks all round. New rear trailing arm bushes installed with the proper tool from america. Top and bottom ball joints replaced both sides with new Custom made exhaust( sounds very nice)New batterySecond hand steering box installed (car will need tracking just haven't got around to it)Brake calliper s / seal kits all round and a new one on the near side rear. New brake master cylinder and new brake hoses all round. Petrol tank taken out cleaned up and replaced clips and hoses. New brake pipes all the way though the car and silicone fluid installed.   New rear brake shoes. pads. hand brake cables replaced all new.
The spare wheel carrier and front engine wheel well flaps also gearbox plate have been taken off for pictures and are now back on the car. All in all a lot of time and money spent all ready. a very good matching numbers engine and gearbox so mechanically in very good condition just needs someone to take this awesome looking car to the next level. paint and interior. The pictures make it look good but it would benefit from a paint job so please bid with this in mind.
There are a few other jobs that will need sorting like the tachometer has stopped and rev counter but this isn't a major problem and parts are readily available from here in the United Kingdom and America . the car as mentioned will need cosmetic attention door rubbers etc perished but this obviously would get done at a respray stage. I have set a realistic reserve and will not budge on that so no Silly offers or questions please. Serious bidders only and please bare in mind it's a forty year old car that i have said needs some work to finish off. Lots of invoices for parts purchased. the car just doesn't get used only reason for sale if it doesn't reach the reserve it can stay in the garage for when it will get finished just haven't got the time at the moment. This car has had endless hours on it already and a lot of money spent the car when finished in his colour combination could be worth late teens and corvette c3 are on the rise now especially earlier examples like this one.
