You are bidding for my superb 1967 MGB Roadster which is Road Tax exempt.

This was to be my 'forever car' when I purchased it however my ill health is forcing me to sell. it has to be sold and give some other lucky person the chance to own this lovely vehicle.

Whilst in my ownership it has only been driven in the dry and has been well cared for and restored by previous owners and it looks outstanding in it's burgundy paintwork.

When I was looking to buy an MGB. I was as concerned by the mechanical condition as that of the bodywork. That's why I chose this one!

A previous owner spent in excess of £2000 last year on a complete engine rebuild by MG experts and I have their invoice. together with many other invoices and history dating back to the 80's.

The rebuild apparantly carries a 2 year unconditional guarantee and this has almost 12 months left to run!

Their work comprised: Rebore block. new core/gallery plugs. reground crank. recon oil pump. new main & big end bearings. new cam followers. new timing chain and tensioner. recon head with unleaded valves. new guides. springs. valves & valve stem seals & recon rocker shaft assembly.

Suffice to say that this MG has always started. sounds absolutely great and has been completely reliable having covered less than 1200 miles since the rebuild.

Another bonus is the Overdrive fitted to both 3rd & 4th gear which really enhances the drive and I think is a real 'must have' in modern traffic.

The car was nicely repainted a while back in Maserati Rosso which looks really appropriate and is in excellent condition. There is a small amount of pitting to the chrome on the quarterlights but otherwise it's pretty spot on!

This is a car that demands to be driven with the roof down. the wind in your hair whilst you enjoy the roar from the exhaust!

Comes complete with a full length tonneau and car cover.

I have a copy of a document from mycarcheck. com that a previous owner purchased. to verify the authenticity and status of the car.

So far I've only pointed out the good bits. there are a few things that if I was keeping the car would have replaced. these being the hood which is fully usable but is looking tired and has a water stain on it. Next would be the steering wheel. not the best I have seen and finally the radio which is looking out of date. None of these detract from the car. but if better ones could be found then they would henance the apperance of the car still further.

This is a very useable classic car that is cheap to run and I've insured fully comp for a little over £80 and with no road tax to pay. motoring doesn't come much cheaper!

Please note that bidders need to be from the UK and have at least 10 positive feedbacks.

Feel free to email but don't send any early offers as the auction will run to the end and there is a very fair BuyItNow price option.

I would encourage anyone who wants to view the car prior to bidding to contact me to make arrangements.

A none refundable deposit of £200 is to be paid into my PayPal account within 24 hours of the auction ending by winning bidder.  The balance to be paid in cash on collection of the car.

Car to be collected within 10 days of auction ending.

Thought I'd update the description a bit based on a number of questions I've received.

The car was originally registered on the 06/11/1967.   I do not believe the car is in it's original colour. according to some correspondence in the paper work a previous owner has identified it as "Maserati Rosso" which is similar to a Burgundy or Maroon colour.   The photo's make it look as though it as a flat finish. I believe it is a metalic finish and makes the car look really nice.

Questions have been asked about when the car was restored. unfortunatley I cannot tell from all the paperwork I have. other than it is not a recent restoration but was carried out to a high standard.   Obviously there are a few marks to the body but nothing serious.   I took it out for a drive this afternoon and it ran well. other than the temperature gauge was slightly higher than normal. which I'm putting down to the really hot day. but thought it best to point it out.

The car has been converted to run on unleaded petrol by a previous owner.

Just to confirm the only reason I'm selling is because of ill health which restricts what I can do.
