2001 BMW 7-Series 740iL

I am a private seller and second owner of this extremely nice BMW. This is my second 740iL. the first being a 1998 with over 180. 00 miles that I sold to my son and is still running strong. This car runs and drives great with awesome performance and handling for a large sedan.  I bought the car just under 3 years ago and have put 23. 00 pleasurable miles on her.  The car looks amazing both inside and out for a car over 15 years old. I purchased the car on eBay from a gentleman back East and he told me that it was not his daily driver and was never driven in bad weather or snow. To my knowledge. no one has ever smoked in the car.
When I bought the car. the first owner told me that the paint was all original which I believe to be true. and it still looks great today. There are a few faint scratches. and flaws which can only be seen if you are looking very close to find them.  The front passenger door has a rough area on the paint at the bottom of the door that looks like a lousy repair was done. It was this way when I bought the car however the original owner did not tell me. so I do not know what the history is on this item; I didn't even notice it until many months after I owned the car when I was waxing the car. Also when I bought the car the rear bumper had a few scratches and I made it a bit worse by backing into a pole in a parking lot so I had the bumper painted. The car has been garaged it's whole life and the appearance is so good it shines like a new paint job. (It is my opinion that it is better to have a few minor paint flaws on original paint than a re-paint which never holds up as well)  
The interior of the car is also in very good condition as you can see in the pictures.  Everything works with the exception of the front beverage holder.  This is a very poorly designed item on these cars and never lasts very long.  I had this item fixed twice on my 98 and finally screwed it together which would not allow it to be pushed in.  I never bothered to fix it on this car as it is pretty much worthless anyways.  The driver seat bolster dye is wearing off from getting in and out of the car. however the leather is not torn and could easily be dyed to look like new again.  The front center left side arm rest is also showing some typical wear. The gray plastic surrounding the bottom of the front seats as well as the door sills show scuff marks from shoes which is very common on these cars.   Again these items could be dye painted very easily and look like new again. All of the rear glass and side glass shades are in good shape and operate. The floor mats are in fair condition with the driver mat being the worst.  The velcro will no longer attach the mats.  
The car runs and drives like new with plenty of power and great mileage for a large sedan.  It gets 25MPG on the highway and about 19MPG when averaging highway and city driving. The motor runs great. transmission shifts as new. the car runs cool. the AC blows ice cold and in general the car is very tight and solid for a 15 plus year old car.  I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. I would say the tires have at least 50% life left. The wheels have some curb rash which was done by the first owner. The original owner kept this car in great condition as I have also done.  The condition of the car is the same now as when I bought it with the exception of a little more wear on the driver seat and floor mats.  
I recently had trouble with the navigation/radio and after much research learned that the battery and or alternator may be the problem. I had them both replaced. however the problem continued.  I then purchased two used navigation components and the navigation CD unit solved the problem. The navigation/radio is working fine now.  I have the extra navigation computer that was not necessary for the repair and I will include it with the car.  
I did not detail the car. shampoo the carpets or spend much time in getting the car ready for sale. I washed and vacuumed the car before taking pictures.  I have always kept the car waxed. clean and looking great.  I have represented the car's condition honestly and accurately for those buyers that would not have an opportunity to see the car.  It is always best to see and drive the car if at all possible. The car is used and being sold "as is" with no warranty. Please review the pictures and ask questions. Do not bid if you do not intend to buy the car.  All sales are final and the price does not include shipping. taxes. license or transfer fees. The car passed a California smog test a few months ago.  
If you would like to inspect the car. please do so before the end of auction. as the sale will be final. I am confident that you will find the car to be exceptional both in appearance and driving. considering the age and mileage.   
The e38 BMW's are a very desirable automobile and highly sought after.  It is getting hard to find one with low mileage and in such great original condition.  Color combination is very important. and when buying a used car of this age and wanting one with low mileage and good condition it gets even harder.  It took me over a year to find this car after missing out on pulling the trigger on another one. If this is the car you are looking for. don't wait and miss out.  This car will sell and from experience.  a few bucks more for the right car is well worth it. You will be getting a lot of car for the money! You will not be disappointed.
