This is an amazing truck with under 50 miles since the all restoration work was completed. The truck is gorgeous. and is a genuine factory Raven Black 1974 F-100 SWB 4x4 with the Ranger XLT package. the absolute-top trim level offered.  Only these early trucks had both the fancy side upper bed moldings AND the fancy lower XLT trim with matching tailgate panel; they are hard to find.  Loaded with options including power steering. power brakes. air conditioning. four-wheel drive. and cruise control. You just don't find them this decked out.

This is a truck that I built for myself at a very high level.  Everything has been rebuilt or restored as needed.  I own a restoration shop specializing in high-end restorations. and special 1973 to 1979 Fords are some of our favorites.  Details as follows:

Body & Paint:

The sheet metal is all original to the truck; this truck was an Idaho high desert truck which I had known of for many years. it has never had rust issues. was the right color. had the right options. and in short was the perfect candidate for a high-end build.  The truck was still wearing its' original Raven Black paint in and out. and did not have any rust issues when I bought it.

We removed all the trim and glass. removed the bed from the frame and had it media blasted. and then carefully sanded the cab down to bare metal before we began the metal work.  Once the panels were as close to flat as possible. they were then body-worked. sealed. and painted in a high end base coat /clear coat finish in factory Raven Black inside and out. The paint was then wet sanded and polished to the beautiful mirror-like finish you now see.

I made a point of taking pictures both in direct sunlight. and also in indirect/cloud cover light. Note how straight and flat the panels are. how even and regular the reflections you see while looking at the panels as though a mirror.  We hit this one out of the park.

Each piece of trim was then cleaned. wet-sanded. polished. and cleared to an almost factory-new finish prior to being reinstalled.  The grills were restored. the engine bay detailed. the wheel wells and suspension detailed. and the bed treated to a high-end Raptor spray-in bed liner. both in the bed area itself. and the underside of the bed and wheel wells as well.  The bumpers are the original chrome Sport Bumpers in excellent condition.  The glass was then reinstalled with new gaskets. window wipers. and window felts. and is in very good condition.

The wheels are restored factory-original Ford steel wheels painted in correct Wimbledon White. and mounted & balanced with brand-new 31 / 10 / 15 BF Goodrich KM2 Mud Terrain tires.  Perfect size; big enough to look tough and go places. small enough to allow you easy entry and dismount from the vehicle.  Factory hub caps round out the proper vintage look. While not a flawless #1 Concourse truck. she's you can see. she's beautiful in and out. mechanically outstanding. and as fine as anything you'll ever see on the road.  I think it would be fair to say that you would be peerless in this vehicle in any situation other than a Palm Springs concourse- or Barret-Jackson type event.

Mechanicals:

The engine is a period-correct High Performance 390 built around Ford's heavy-duty reinforced webbed block. rebuilt with 10:1 flat top pistons. moly rings. balanced rotating assembly. big high power/torque cam. new lifters. pushrods. valve job. valve seats. springs. keepers. etc.  It's probably a 400 horsepower engine; very powerful. but also completely street friendly.  It has all the good durability parts including a High Volume oil pump. true roller timing gear set. big oil pan. HV fuel pump w/can filter. electronic ignition. exhaust headers. Edelbrock aluminum high rise intake manifold. Edelbrock carburetor. new water pump. and more.  The engine has a fresh tune. carb adjustment. and oil.  The A/C system is in proper working order. The engine is backed by Ford's heavy-duty C6 automatic transmission. factory NP205 gear driven transfer case. all in proper working order.  The radiator was flushed. new belts and hoses installed. and fresh coolant added.  The power brake system has been gone through. and is in proper working order.  The one-finger power steering is tight. and the truck tracks straight down the road without wander.  The rear axle is Ford's bulletproof 9" Nodular unit. and I believe the front is a Spicer/Dana 44.

Interior:

The interior is beautiful. as you can see.  The fancy tufted XLT headliner is present and in excellent condition. the seat has fresh upholstery and foam. with the frame and seat belts also being restored while out.  Brand-new carpet kit. perfect original door panels. sun visors. and original lower door map pockets  The Ranger wood-grained trim is still very nice on the dash and steering wheel.  The gauges are all in proper working order.  The interior was fully painted with the exterior when the truck was restored.  New door weatherstrip. window channel felt. window wiper felt. and window wipers are installed.  The window regulators operate smoothly. Door sill plates are also restored and installed with new fasteners.  Just a great-looking "time machine" interior. like 1974 new.

Clear title in hand. matches VIN exactly for export. inspection. etc.  Please be prepared to remit payment in full within 3 days of auction's end via deposit into my Bank of America business account. or bank-to-bank wire transfer.   I can assist with finding you an affordable shipper. as we have three or four vehicles a month ship out across the country.

While every effort is being made to describe the trucks as accurately as possible. it is in fact a 42-year-old classic. and therefore being sold exactly as-is. without warranty or guarantee expressed. written. or implied. I will accommodate your independent inspection if you so desire.

Please feel free to contact me at 360-936-9257 with any questions you may have.  Again. I am potentially willing to end the auction early for the right offer.
