austin a40 farina fast road

For sale is my well built modified 1967 austin a40 farina mk2. It has been built in the view of one day racing or hill climbing which i will never be able to afford so it is now up for sale.

Its had lots of professional welding done to floors. inner wings. aswell as front and rear crossmebers so is a very solid car.

whole of front ends including engine bay has been repainted 2 years ago. The body is in very good condition for age with only one or 2 small areas possibly needing attention one day (but not for a long time).

specs are as follows:

mg midget front hubs. discs and calipers with peter may engineering tapered bearing conversion standard rear drums and shoes ss braided hoses all round all run by tandem late mini brake master cylinder using racing blue brake fluid. This gives a very good pedal and strong brakes for an a40!

steering box has been rebuilt with new bearings and set up correctly.

brand new king pins and reconditioned stub axels. wishbones all with polybushes.

lowered 400lb main springs 

custom front adjustable avo shock absorber conversion 

rear adjustable avo shock absorbers

1 3/4in rear lowering blocks

set of 4 revolution alloy wheels

there may be more but i cant remember 

Engine spec:

original 1098cc engine block

standard size pistons

kents 256 steel billett camshaft gives great power delivery in this size engine.

upgraded bearings bolts etc throughout whole engine

lightened and balanced flywheel. crank shaft. con rods. clutch plate

head is mini mpi LDF105800 block has been pocketed to fit

33mm inlet and 29mm exhaust valves 

all new valves and guides

mini sport rising rate competition double valve springs

lightly ported to remove casting seems etc

minisport competition headstuds washers and nuts

billet rocker gear and spacers upgraded rocker shaft etc

webber 40dcoe carb on long inlet manifold for more torque

aldon yellow distributor

sytec fuel pressure regulator

lcb manifold to 1 3/4 inch stainless exhaust system with two small straight through stainless boxes

double cored radiator. electric fan with revotec thermostat controller.

other upgrades include nice neat wiring. alternator. rev counter. crystal halogen headlights. chrome rocker cover. 4in motalita steering wheel and boss. front apron panel under front bumper is aluminium.

back seat also included and is in perfect condition as are the front seats.

all in all this car drives amazingly is pretty quick for an a40 quicker than a standard 1275 and  will give most boy racers a surprise! handles very well and stops well too not to mention how good it looks! im going to miss it alot

since i have rebuilt 2 years ago it its had less than 3000 on the clock so engine is run in nicley very strong fast starting and reliable.
