History of BYK 711:
Info kindly supplied by the London Vintage Taxi Association:From one of the Mann & Overton sales ledgers
1st owner / customer: Taxicabs London Ltd
I also have the continuation buff log book which shows the owners from June 1956 to 1967. The V5C shows the owners to the current day. I have an MOT which expired August 1965 which was probably the last time this vehicle was in use. It was bought by a Mr Usher in Dec 1966 for £15 (I have the original sales receipt and I also have Mr Usher's contact details - should the new owner wish to chat to him about the vehicle). Mr Usher owned the vehicle for a long time. The previous owner to Mr Usher in the 1960s was a Scout master who used to ferry boy scouts around in the cab - I have spoken to him; having written to all the names on the buff log book to find out more history on the vehicle. Having spoken to three of the previous owners I have a lot more history to give to the next owner - this is just a snippet.

Work required to finish - electrics - wiring of the headlamps. side lamps. interior lamps and tail lamp. Some of the electrical wiring is in place and just needs connecting up.
To hear the engine running: https://youtu. be/PAndfp7nWKU

Spent £1274 on the engine with Sutton Rebore Services Ltd - rebore and new Hepolite pistons;new valves and valve guides; head also skimmed. Engine is now back together and back in the chassis and running. Front end should be back together by late October 2016 - price may go up depending on the amount of work remaining. Fully finished the cab should be worth £35 - £40k. Asking price now reflects it's current unfinished state.
According to my research their are only around 100 pre war cabs surviving today. During the war many London cabs were used by the Auxilary Fire Service and were fitted with tow bars to pull trailer pumps. See pics below. This cab was one of those. Some were also used by the Home Guard - See YouTube slideshow above and pics below.
