Wow. look at this. a 29 year old van with no rot underneath and still sporting it's factory underside coating. this is not a rot box with a fresh coat of underseal. You just can't find them like this that often. If you look at the last two pictures you will see that I have added some front chrome quarter bumpers and a classic Desmo alloy and wood roof rack.

I have just been looking at what classic vans and campers that are for sale. unless you want to spend 10 grand on a VW or 2 grand on a non running wreck with bits missing and loads of rot there isn't anything so my van is a great deal. I would check the tyre pressures. fill it with fuel and set off to the south of France right now if I had to. This van can only go up in value. It is a real investment. It is also the coolest ride. it is unlikely you will see another cruising around. if you don't like to follow the crowd and like to be different then buy this!
The reason it is so good is that it is an ex Royal Air Force van and was used on the airfield and kept in a hanger and so it never got wet or did any miles for many years.

It has only got 60. 00 on the clock and it has some old mot's. not every one so although I cannot guarantee the mileage 100% all the pointers are there. .
The engine is a beautifully sweet 1700cc petrol with a five speed box. Better than a gutless smokey bad to start AND EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR old diesel and it is so much nicer to drive. Good on petrol and better for the environment too.
The seats have been replaced with modern ones with headrests for comfort and safety.
The sign writing isn't. it is just removable magnetic signs so no problem there.
Tyres have superb tread.
There is a ply bulkhead with 4 expensive speakers  and the rear is fitted with new carpet and there is a storage box come seat in the back as well. ( CD player kept by last owner as it was an expensive one but I can find another to give you as I have a few lying around in my unit. )There is also a two burner with grill gas stove in the box and it can also be used to warm the van up as a heater.
Note that the rear inside is very clean and the floor and wheel arches are not all dented. this hasn't been the usual builders van.
The windows are smoked. the stainless steel wheel trims are from a 1960's Ford and it has a dateless registration so it looks more like a van from the 60's.
Don't park it outside a bank though as it looks like a bunch of villains in balaclavas are about to jump out and rob the joint!
Would look great sign written for a business or put a wood burning stove and a bed ( if you're soft ) in the back and make it a surfers camper van.
Bodywork has the usual dents and scrapes and touch ups from it's 29 years but in my opinion these give the van character. if you want cool this is the way to ave'em. ask yourself. would Steve McQueen have been seen driving a VW Bay camper van with pastel chequed curtains and an awning. no he would have thrown his off road motorcycle in the back of a weathered van!
So that's about all you need to know. it looks the dogs. runs superb. isn't rotten and will make you look the business!  On top of that it should increase in value and be an investment as everyone wants an old van and these are the last of the old fashioned classic looking vans and being from the 80's it has a decent powered engine and a five speed box which is reasonably up to travelling on todays motorways. unlike an old VW or old diesel or 4 speed Transit. They are out of the question anyway as they want 10 grand for a decent one. Buy wisely as this will be up there in the silly price band before long!
Mot December 2016 so I am going to put a full mot on it before sale and I am also going to put a new water pump on it as it is dripping a touch. I will probably put a new cam belt and alternator belt  on as well as I think I have to remove them anyway to fit the water pump. If you want to take it today before I get chance to do them I will knock you £200 off and you can sort it yourself. The choice is yours.
Call me anytime on 07711 685242. but please note that I hate the " How much for cash. mate " types. I list at the price I want and won't take offers so don't waste my time and come and find faults and offer me less. Pull it to bits all you want. the price still remains the same. This is not meant to offend decent folk. just keep the idiots and time wasters away. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
I am located on the outskirts of Blackburn in Lancashire. a few miles from junction 31 of the M6 or junction 6 of the M65.
Cash only and all notes will be checked. ( once bitten! )
Cheers.
