FOR SALE 1935 FORD MODEL Y.  BXM 644
The car having been displayed in the Dover Transport museum for a considerable period of time. is totally original and unmolested.
It's finished in a original factory supplied Thorn Brown over Black with kharki brown wheels and red brake drums. The interior is finished in very dark green leather (the front seats. headlining  and carpet need some TLC). In general the paint is in good nick and only needs attention on the odd chip.
Its 933 cc engine starts well from cold with a regular tick over when warm. There are no oil leaks and I have not needed to top up the oil in my ownership. There is no water pump. it relies on thermal displacement and again I have not needed to top up the water (Antifreeze). It has a 6 Volt electrical system and everything works fine except the fuel gauge which is not electric but vacuum operated. Part of the originality that I purchased the car for is the original 6 volt glass oil filled coil which gives a good spark. The 6 volt battery is also new. The wipers are electric and work after a fashion so I have treated the windscreen to Rainex which works a treat. Steering is by the ubiquitous worm and peg method. those people who also have this system say you just have to live with it. Braking on all four wheels is by balanced rods as is the very efficient handbrake. It is equipped with working semaphore indicators although I stick my hand out of the window just to make sure. All four windows wind up and down. There is an original sunroof and as I take it out only on sunny days however I have not opened it for fear of ruining the waterproof seal.  Spares are available from the Ford Side Valve Owners Club ( Look up their website under FSOC ).  At the rear there is an original Ford fold down luggage rack (I include the F&M hamper and made to measure leather straps). All the tyres have tread and inner tubes. I always check them and top them up before every run at 28psi. The car drives well and I have just completed a 60 mile run with no problems. As the car is 1935 (April) there is No tax or MOT needed. Original transferable number plate.
This vehicle will be ideal for film and television work.  I am located near Canterbury Kent so the car can be seen and driven before auction ends.
Bid to buy not tyre kick.  There is no buy it now. I will not reveal the reserve price and will let the auction run.
