Morris Mini Cooper Mk2

For sale is my Morris Mini Cooper Mk2. First registered on 26th September 1969 and supplied by Wadhams Limited. Waterlooville. Hampshire. This is a matching numbers car with heritage certificate.

This car is a very presentable and usable classic that any owner would be proud to show. however it is not concourse nor is it £15K.

Mechanically the car is in excellent condition. the engine has been mildly uprated with a big valve head. cooper ‘s' valve springs. an LCB exhaust manifold and an RC40 exhaust system. In my ownership the top end of the engine has been rebuilt and the carburettors / ignition system overhauled.

The car still retains the original 7” cooper disc brakes. whilst working to the best of their ability any future owner may want to upgrade for modern driving conditions.

The interior is standard and in good overall condition. the seat bases were replaced in last year. All the instruments. lights etc. work except that the interior light does not operate from the door switches. The only ‘extra' fitted is a map reading lamp. The front passenger seat squab has some scratch marks but to my mind is perfectly acceptable for a 44 year old car.

Bodily the car was subject of a major restoration several years ago and has had regular but light use ever since. The floors and sills were replaced and a small amount of repair work was done to the boot floor.   All these areas are still in excellent condition. please see photos.   The paint work is not perfect. A new offside wing has been fitted and at the same time the boot lid repainted. The colour match is good but not perfect i. e. only noticeable when pointed out. Also there are one or two age related marks that if I were to keep the car I would consider a bottom half re-spray in a couple of years time.  

The car has an MOT until 23rd Jan 2014 and is Taxed (Free) until the end of October.
