VW Golf GTi 1982 1600 in Schwarz Black

Here we have my beloved mk1 golf gti it is the early 1600 engine and is also the non-sunroof model finished in the best colour schwarz black. the car is in very original condition.

The car has recently undergone a full engine rebuild including all new bearings and gaskets and a fully reconditioned cylinder head whilst done a new cambelt and clutch were also fitted. and the gearbox oil changed. Everything under the bonnet was either cleaned or painted as it was when it left the factory was planning to get the original engine bay stickers to finish but as im selling now might be a nice little touch fior the new owner todo. The engine itself is the engine the car left the factory with 31 years ago and was still running when removed for rebuild was just worn and hadnt had any major failure so was a straight forward rebuild.

Other new parts(in the last few years). all documented include alternator. starter motor. both driveshafts. both front wheel bearings. new fuel pump. new fuse board so no electrical gremlins.

The car also comes with loads and loads of reciepts and its full VAG service pack including an almost fully stamped service book with 16 stamps in it 8 of which are VW.

The interior is in lovely condition with no nasty tears in the seats or bolster wear. the roof lining is very good although has 2 small tears no bigger than a 10p piece. The carpet is presentable and the correct gearknob and steering wheel are fitted.

The original alloy wheels are fitted and are in fair codition but i had planned to have them refurbed to bring them up to standard. the tyres all have lots of good tread.

The paintwork/bodywork is in good overall condition with no dents or scratches to metion the paint has a nice deep shine however it is not concourse but is a great looking original mk1 golf gti.

The bad bits. well obviously a car of this age does have the odd little imperfections the interior blower/fan does not work but have a new switch which i think is the problem. as metioned the tears in the headlining onkly small and the wheels coukld benefit from a refurb. . also part of the front grill red trim is missing. so its painted red to match. Some of the plastics have been painted at some point and either need repainting or replacing with new ones.

The car drives very well pulls right through all the gear nicley and handles brilliantly.

There are also two modifications to the vehicle from standard which include pressed alloy number plates and adjustable coilover suspension fitted. easily returned to standard.

So to sum up here is a very nice usable classic on the road and ready for the summer and show season. certanly an appreciating classic and a great future investment

Offered for sale due to corrado VR6 turning up and a wedding just around the corner so funds needed.
