This Maserati 3500 GTi has a provenance like no other. As the Maserati press car used for the 1962 British motor show and featured in Autosport by Gregor Grant. along with other various comparison tests and magazine articles. there is no other like it.  This matching numbers car being the press car was bristling with features including disc brakes all around! There is even a black and white photograph of this car being tested by Roy Salvadori at Silverstone.  One of the vehicle's noted recent owners was Geoffrey Burgon who instigated a number of works to the car which culminated in a respray using the original Italian Lechler paint in the original body colour and a full re-trim again in original colours.

Most recently 33 DYM has been featured in a comparison test against a DB4 in the August issue of Classic & Sportscar written by Martin Buckley. nbsp;this is a slightly unfair comparison due to the DB4 being heavily upgraded and modified including a 4. 7 ltr RS Williams engine! However I speak from experience that this car is a very special car indeed in every department and any modern day fiddling by those that think they know better would only spoil a brilliant original piece of design and engineering which rewards the senses with every drive and garners admiring gazes everywhere you go. Driving this car is extremely rewarding with all the mechanical controls providing great feed back. enabling you to cover ground rapidly and easily leaving today's traffic behind.  The lusty mechanically fuel injected engine pulls smoothly from a very low RPM (Making any carbed car by comparison feel under engineered). the five speed gear shift is positive. the handling direct and the steering sharp. this coupled with a supple ride over bumps makes this a really great GT car. The interior is freshly re-trimmed and feels very designer whilst smelling Connolly.  The exterior design with its large centre grill. nbsp;gentle sloping rear screen. nbsp;plenty of bright work integrating unique design details and with a purposeful stance makes this very rare car photogenic from any angle.

Condition wise the car's interior trim and exterior paint work look and feel as fresh as you would expect. the engine bay is clean and tidy with the engine showing good compression on all cylinders. always starting eagerly with never a sign of smoke or dubious rattles but importantly retaining a wonderful sense of originality. having not been subject to an all interfering full nut and bolt rebuild that so many are subject to today.

In short this is a unique opportunity to own not only a rare RHD Maserati 3500GTI but to own 33 DYM and hopefully to continue adding to its history and enjoying all it has to offer as one of the finest original classic GT's ever built.
