Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.1) based on 331 votes

This car needs major structural restoration but runs great.
Besides typical rust. nbsp;common to this model as described in numerous publications. nbsp;there is a dent along the front left panel and it also needs a floor pan and chassis outriggers. all of which are easily available.

Only 8077 models (W & Y). with the station wagon body style. were produced from 1972 to 1973.
Very few have the automatic transmission.

The car runs great and I enjoy driving it daily but I need to turn it over to someone who can do the necessary body and frame work to keep this classic car on the road. I'd love to see it go to someone who'll make it into a real work of art like what one Koenigsegg engineer envisioned. (Search how Leif Tufvesson of Caresto has restored an 1800 to make it a P1800GT. )The gas tank was removed and rebuilt (by Moyer's Fuel Tank Renu of Greensburg. PA) when I purchased the car in 2000. I also replaced the header and had the electronic fuel injection system rebuilt as well as the front end. The tires were replaced at the time the car was purchased and have 81% tread with one puncture (recently) by screw. I located a Walnut Shift Knob reproduction on eBay.
I was able to find a good used Throttle Position Sensor from Howie Silverman in Massapequa. NY.
I also replaced the broken kick down cable and a broken limit strap.
The speedometer sorta works but the odometer has always read 55. 00 miles for me so there is no telling how many miles the engine has (but I'd guess it's not even close to Irv Gordon's record crunching 2. 97 million. )  I only live a few miles from work and it's always been a town car for me except for one road trip to Chicago so the mileage I've put on the car is minimal.
The windshield washer doesn't work and the rear window defroster blows the fuse if used.
The temperature is always pegged but everything checks out okay so it's just a gauge problem. Jeff of Advanced Distributors. in MN. did a fantastic job of rebuilding the distributor just a few years ago.
The inside door handle on the driver side recently broke so I removed the door panel to access the mechanism for opening the door.
The battery is new-ish. the steering box was recently rebuilt and the rear muffler was replaced within the past year.
I have the front grill but not the clips to secure it to the car.
I also have the passenger seat. removed for the pictures. as well as the original owner's manual.
I'll also include some IPD items purchased but never installed. including a dashboard cover (2 pc. ) and under hood insulation. as well as extra oil filters. flame traps. and limit strap.
The discoloration of the top of the car is due to the fact that a tree limb fell on it during an ice storm (no glass was broken) and the insurance company wouldn't spring for a paint job so it's just a red tinted primer. They also wouldn't spring to fix the headliner so that needs attention as well.
Important NoteThis car is NOT safe to drive. period. It should be flatbed towed to you. unless you live here in town.
