In 1962 the Galaxie was dubbed theThunderbird.  

390 motor z=390 cid. 4v. v-8 
Engine uses a 9. 6. 1 compression ratio. ydraulic valve lifters and features a single 446 California ford four barrel Carburetor mounted on a cast-iron intake manifold. the engine block and cylinder heads are black with gold valve covers and air cleaner. data tag 2d652z142166.  

A oval air filter hides three Holley two barrel Carburettor. 15" Carburettor 5 spoke mag wheel. This car has Ford's Borg warner four speed manual which was offered for the first time as a regular production option.  
Gold chrome plated fender ornaments which is exclusive to the 1962.  

The up grade model has bucket seats. and a floor shift four speed manual transmission 

The car has had the body repainted the original Colour. A true classic. drives beautifully and sounds great. he manual gear box is set up better than new and such is the smooth gear change that would amaze the new car manufacturers of today.  
not only a beautiful straight Galaxie and a superb example of a 1962 ford old'y. this car  has been tuned to perfection and throws out its maximum h/p. plenty of comments about the beauty but its a true pleasure to drive. nice new quiet tyres. o wavering or noise with in the power steer and no rear end sway.   This vehicle was bought in Calafornia sent to NZ and now complies with World wide standards.  This car is priced in USD Dollors.
