This fabulous two owner example came to us from a retired gentleman that has owned this rare car for the past couple of years. It was purchased by the original owner at the local Ford store here in Cedar Rapids and acquired by the second owner from the first owner's widow. It had been sitting in storage for over 35 years and needed to be freshened up for its new life. This car may have some significant history behind it according to some information presented to us from a strong follower of these cars. It was originally built as a 406 Tri-Power car. of that there is no doubt. The interesting story is that in 1962 Ford pulled several of the 406 Galaxies off the line to "experiment" with a dual quad set up. of those cars it is believed 3 were convertibles. Frankly. we can't prove this is one of those cars. but according our source this one has the exact dual quad setup along with the 3 speed overdrive and 4. 11 rear end that were used on the factory cars. Who knows. maybe this car is more significant that just being a correct 406/405 horse with overdrive and 4. 11 gears. Heck that is a ton of history right there.
