1963 Sunbeam Alpine

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our very cool 1963 Sunbeam Alpine Series III Convertible.  Perfectly suited for your inner Agent 007 or 86!

The Alpine became famous in many films of the 60's and was driven by legendary performers like Cary Grant. Elizabeth Taylor. Michael Caine and Tuesday Weld.  From James Bond films to the Get Smart Television series. the Sunbeam Alpine was a favorite among movie stars and our GI's returning from service in Europe.  Part of the British sports car invasion of the 60's  and well known to collectors and vintage racers alike. the Alpine is fun to drive. inexpensive to operate and an appreciating asset in your portfolio.  

This Alpine was purchased here in California where it was being used as a beach house summer fun car in Newport Beach.  It was kept up to date and maintained by a long time Alpine owner.

Recommissioned in 2016. this great Alpine runs on modern fuels while keeping its British motoring heritage alive and ready for the road once again.

Rarity

Produced in limited quantities from 1959 to 1968 The Sunbeam Alpine is a rare sight to see outside of a British car meet.  This is the Series 3 car with it's trademark big rear wings and real wire wheels with proper knock offs.  Fitted with rear seats and seat belts.  

Exterior.

Freshly resprayed and correct to this car. Carnival Red two stage paint has been clear coated. color sanded and polished to a high lustre. Minor body work was done and photo documented.

Wheels. Tires

Five 13” real wire wheels and tyres are in place.  

Engine

1592 cc high revving British hotrod.  She sports an upgraded and freshly rebuilt Weber carburetor. a big improvement over standard.  Freshly serviced radiator. new water pump. belts and hoses.  Valve adjust. Runs excellent.

Transmission

4 Speed Manual transmission is smooth and responsive. No noises or unusual behavior.

Braking. Steering

Front disc brakes are excellent and operating properly.  Steering is precise and on point. Fresh Alignment.

Battery

New Interstate Battery

Service

Fresh service and ready to go! Coolant. oil. filters. hoses and belts. plus plugs. points and condensor are all new.

Trim

The chrome trim is in great shape. Some minor pitting and wear can be seen. see pics.

Convertible Top

The convertible top is serviceable and the rear window is in fair to good condition.  See the pics.  Our craftsmen can install a new top. weatherstrips and pads at an additional cost.

Glass

The glass is in excellent condition.  Windows operate properly

Interior

Nice seats. carpets. dash and door panels. Gauges and all lights. switches work properly.

Boot

Nicely trimmed out with carpeting and trim panels. Spare wire wheel. tire.

Audio

A new bluetooth/USB capable radio with remote control has been installed. A hidden antenna is in place.

Odometer

The odometer shows 68906 miles and operates properly.  

DMV

The title is clear and all documentation is included.  No back fees are due.  No smog is required for California residents. Very low cost Antique registration for most US States.

A thick build book with extensive documentation is included.  There are detailed photos of the restoration work. documentation and receipts. Replacement parts are guaranteed by name brand supplies like NAPA auto parts. Sunbeam Specialties and Victoria British.  A period Sunbeam Alpine operator's manual is included as well as a full CD picture history.  

Comparables

There are several near comparable cars for sale at this time.  If they haven't been hacked up for an engine swap. they generally still have some significant needs that have been addressed on this Alpine.
