Here we have a 1999 Lotus Elise S1 finished in the classic Lotus colour of Norfolk Mustard with Black leather. It has covered 34. 00 miles from new with a good service history although it has been in storage for the last couple years. It shows 2 previous owners but in reality it has only had one owner since the car was three months old. The car is due a service and this car be carried out if required. It drives extremely well and presents like a 5 year old car. There is a grp spider web near the front headlight but the overall condition is superb. The wet weather gear is all present and works well. The wheels are good and the tyres also.

Ever since its launch in 1996. the Lotus Elise has been feted variously as one of the most magical driver's cars of all time. a benchmark for handling and even a Lotus Seven for the 21st century. The latter point might not be entirely fair. for the Elise is a far more practical car than the Seven - still produced today by Caterham - could ever hope to be. An Elise really can be used every day as well as being perfectly suited to track-day excursions or even conversion into a race car. Lotus itself has done the latter. of course. in the shape of the painfully manic 340R and. more recently. the Exige coupe. But despite the significant number of derivatives. all Elises use Rover's 1. 8-litre K-Series engine in a variety of tunes.

The standard convertible packs just 118 bhp. which doesn't sound a lot until you remember it weighs less than 700 kg. Meanwhile. modified examples offer as much as 190 bhp. thanks to quite a hefty bit of engine tweakery. As a fairly inexpensive car to purchase new - considering its performance and handling. if not its creature comforts - the Elise holds its value well and makes a great used performance sports car.

These early S1 cars are very desirable and are most certainly classics. they are great fun to drive and easy to own. This car has an MOT and all the books and many invoices in the history file. This is a great little. almost one owner. car at a great price. please call if this might be for you.
