Lovely modified Jaguar S Type 3. 4 in Old English White with red leather interior. The car is subtly modified with the following specification: Re-built 3. 4 XK engine with 9. 1 pistons. straight port big valve head with mild Piper road cams. high torque starter motor. twin 2" SU carbs with electronic ignition and electric choke. Oil cooler with modern screw on oil filter. stainless steel exhaust system including six branch manifold. enlarged alloy radiator with electric fan and Coombs style vented bonnet. This all gives the car around 270bhp which combined with a modern 5 speed manual Getrag gearbox gives very good and surprising performance. It is also fitted with chrome wire wheels with new splined hubs. GAZ adjustable dampers. new wiring loom. nbsp; an XJ6 power steering rack with variable assistance. upgraded XJ6 wiper motor. halogen headlights. CD player with Ipod connectivity. a Motolita steering wheel and rebuilt brakes with Cooper Craft calipers. All of this adds up to a classic car that is more than capable of keeping up with modern vehicles and can happily sit in heavy traffic without histrionics.

The car has just been fully set-up on a rolling road by a specialist and it runs very well. pulling very hard throughout the rev range with a power reading of 265bhp at the engine. Mechanically the car is fantastic but there are a few marks here and there around the body as it is an older restoration. The body was stripped to a bare shell and all necessary repairs were carried out - there is a photographic record of this with the car. A couple of the doors have some corrosion showing along the bottoms and there are a couple of ripples in the bonnet where the E Type style cooling vents have been fitted (perhaps just about visible in the photographs) along with other marks here and there. The car still presents very well and it also has new carpets and door seals. very good seats and good wood.

There are receipts for all the work that has been carried out on the engine and running gear - they include a brand new cylinder head amongst others. The gearbox is a really nice conversion and is a very expensive undertaking but suits the engine well.

The car is situated in Cambridge (about 5 minutes from J11 of the M11) please enquire for viewing or any further information. Our telephone number is 01223 872879.
