Up for auction and selling NO RESERVE is this one of a kind custom 1977 Datsun 280Z. This beautiful performer is fitted with a potent 350 cu. in. Chevy V-8 complimented GM 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission. The engine and transmission were recently rebuilt. and the engine retains its original computer-controlled throttle-body fuel injection system. Less than 1. 00 miles have been covered since the conversion was completed. Of course. the engine-conversion kit was provided by JTR. Other items include a new 4-row aluminum radiator with a temperature-controlled electric fan. a Painless wiring harness. Sanderson ceramic-coated headers. and a serpentine belt drive system for the engine accessories.

JTR Conversion History

While Datsun's brilliant 240/260/280 Z-Car series of the 1970s redefined the basic sports-coupe concept with remarkable economy. stunning looks. and reliability. the cars simply lacked the power and performance American buyers had come to expect. To be sure. a raft of performance parts and upgrades were available. including exotic carburetors. cams. headers. and more. but these modifications reduced drivability while all too often adding only enough power to rival that of a basic small-block V-8 engine.

Accordingly. Livermore. California's JTR (Jags That Run) answered the call of value-conscious Z-Car enthusiasts seeking a low-cost but highly effective performance boost with its V-8 Stealth Conversion kits and vast technical expertise. Appearing as if the Z-Car was designed with American V-8 engines in mind from the outset with its spacious engine bay. the well-engineered JTR V-8 conversion maintains the Z-Car's balance and provides proper clearances for vital components and sound fore/aft weight distribution.
