A difficult decision to make. strip for parts or sell as a restoration project???
What's good - It drives and rides very smoothly and is a great cruiser for a long trip which can be aided by the functioning cruise control. It seems there is no rust anywhere which is a surprise for a car of this age. I have heard and confirmed on the web that the 944 Porsche had a galvanised body shell from 1983 so perhaps MB were doing the same. The paint and trim present very well and the body is straight. The leather interior trim is in good shape with only hairline cracks on the driver's seat. Sunroof doesn't leak water. The heater and fan work very well. It has been serviced and repaired by a Mercedes specialist shop.
What's not so good - Interior woodgrain is lifting in several places. Left hand front door exterior lower trim is loose at the rear section. The A/C does not function. Emission control air pump is there but belt not fitted. There is patch of lifting clearcoat on the roof paint. The sunroof doesn't open. Front tyres are near the wear indicators and may need replacing for a roadworthy.
The vehicle is not registered but has been driven recently with a permit.
