This is a matching numbers car with continuous history. It was delivered by Rolls Royce agents. nbsp;Rippon Bros. to its first owner. Mr Thomas Lumb. who registered it to his company name. Thomas Lumb Co Ltd. Victoria Mills. Skipton. Yorkshire. with the original registration number JCX 749. Its second owner. Mr Walter Greaves. bought it in 1966 through Viceroy Carriage Company. and he kept it until 1975. when a Mr Richard Werby acquired the car and exported it to America. where he resided for over 30 years. At the time of export. the recorded mileage was 90. 00miles. The Silver Dawn remained in Mr Werby's custodianship until 2001. during which time he added a further 16. 00 to the odometer. and serviced and maintained the car with recognised specialists. including Rolls Royce of Beverly Hills.
The forth owner. Dr Steven Davidson. acquired the car in 2001. with the odometer now reading 106. 00 miles. Over the next 10 years Dr Davidson lavished $41. 76. 39 of maintenance and refurbishment on the car and increased the mileage to 118. 00 miles. It returned to the UK in 2011.
The extensive history file contains copies of the original order form. with special features of automatic gearbox and standard trafficators. copies of the build sheets. various copies of newspaper articles relating to Mr Lumb. Rolls Royce handbook (1953). automatic gearbox instruction card and warrantee. Smiths radiomobile instruction book. nbsp;numerous invoices for thousands of pounds/dollars and the original RF60.
This imposing and well maintained car is on the button and ready to be enjoyed as Rolls Royce intended.
