Jaguar SWB Series ONE XJ12 in QLD for sale

This is a 1972 Series One XJ12 Jaguar SWB (short wheel base).

This matching numbered car is a genuine 'survivor' of time and age.    Its production number tells us that it is number #168 of 720 RHD SWB S1 XJ12's EVER built. this in itself means that it is "probably" one of the earliest surviving undamaged or un barsturized XJ12 cars IN THE WORLD !!!

Its speedo reading reads 64101 miles. now I wont suggest that is its actual mileage travelled but all you have to do is look at the features in it like the drivers seat. floor mat. carpet and arm rest. head rests and hood lining so it wouldn't surprise me if it is only on its second time around (5 digit speedo). I am trying desperately to find out more about its history like when it came to Australia in the first place and number of owners etc and will post that info a. s. a. p.       I am of the belief it came to Aus in 1972 or early 1973 and the lack of rust (which is NONE by the way) certainly tells me that.

It has the English plate still attached and I am trying to learn more about that as well. has it been registered here or not ? I figure it has been due to the Queensland drivers badge attached to the grille.    and the English plate has just been put back on for storage or keep sake. word is though it can go back to the mother land without issues and be used so international inquiry's are very welcome.

It has been repainted in its life time ? and it has got the correct model automatic transmission in it . it is NOT however the original but I do have that and it will go with the sale for reconditioning.

Another weird thing is that the engine does have the death rattle in it on start up. that is prior to oil pressure rising it seems the crankshaft big end bearings have passed there use-by date so the engine will have to be removed. stripped. inspected and reconditioned so please put that into your costing's.      I am happy to do that for you before it goes but it will NOT be part of this sale.

I am / we are    Peninsula Jag    Qld  in Australia so check out www.      and have a browse around.

FREIGHT. As suggested above I am happy to freight it anywhere in the country or the world but obviously that fee would be on you. I need a postcode to quote you.   Approx $3000 AUD to England

Things have changed for me so this is why it is for sale. any questions will be answered promptly and honestly.
