Hello. up for sale is a 1972 Datsun 240Z.   A clean. rust free car that has spent most of its life in a garage.  During its ownership with me. its been put in a garage every night and well maintanced.   The guy I bought it from kept it in a garage more than I did. as you will be able to tell upon inspecting the car.   This 240 runs great. drives great. and looks great.   The compression is 180-190 in all cylinders. new distributor. both carbs have been rebuilt (Carbs are SU style. which according to the manuals is the performance upgrade).   Handling characteristics seem to be spot on with its strong reputation for being a grand tourer.   Plush ride yet dives into corners with confident assurance. the suspension tuning is tight and straight.   The Block number matches the fender number which matches the dash Vin number. which I believe makes this a numbers matching car.

I'm heading back to school in the fall and can't keep the car.   As I was growing up the import car scene was in full blossom and I was addicted to all of it.   The sound of a stong 6 cylinder is music. and light nimble nature of them made for a fun dance in rural West Virginia.   My first car being a Miata. I learned quicky what a light weight rear wheel drive car can do on the back roads surrounding my town.   My reckless years behind I continued to look into import cars and their heritages.   I've had the opportunity to drive some cool cars in my life but the Z cars had a certain attraction to me that I had to explore.   So long story short. I bought this Z car in January 2013 from a Pharmisutical Sales consultant in Charleston. WV.   He had owned the car for 20 years. whom with his buddy took care of the car over the years. mostly driving it around Charleston and parking it back in the garage that night.   However. his buddy passed about 1 year ago at the time of purchase and the car hadn't moved sense.   After purchasing the car I had the carbs rebuilt. and new distributor installed. why?  Upon draining the gas and adding fresh. I drove the car home and found it to be sluggish.   Found the front carb to not be working properly and the float in the rear needed adjustment.   The Distributor wasn't firing correctly. burning points and inconsitent spark.   New carb rebuild and new Distributor.   Compression was checked and passed as mentioned above.   The car runs excellent now. not that I run it hard. rarely sees above 3500RPM.    The car has received similar treatment during my ownership. and honestly don't want to sell it. but I'm going back to school in the fall and can't keep it.   The car hasn't seen anything but blue bird sky's since I've had it. and I think the same can be said about the previous owner.   Now onto the body.   The paint is chipped on the right fender and on the bottom side of the hood.   The inner fenders. floor boards. rear floor boards are rust free and look to be original.   As you can see in the picture the rear floor board is orange but the paint is faded. and the same can be said for under the seats. around interior brackets. nbsp;driver and passenger floor boards. the storage bins behind each seat work and aren't rusted.   The car seems to be in excellent condition compared to other vehicles of this era.   I really think its been in a garage its whole life. the car is solid all over.

The car is offered locally.   Please come drive the car if your close to area code 25271 in West Virginia.
