1971 DATSUN 240Z.

I have for sale a 1971 Datsun 240Z. The Odo reads 73000 miles but the original

Engine and drivetrain has long been replaced. Engine is a 3. 0 L Series with E-31

Head. 5-Speed Gearbox and 3. 90 Ratio R-200 LSD Differential. The following is all

that's been done to this car.

3. 0 ENGINE

BLOCK   : 1978 L-28 Block bored to 88. 5mm painted Black with Brass Freeze Plugs

PISTONS : 88. 5mm Forged Flat Tops

RODS    : Blueprinted L-24

CRANK   : 79mm 280Z Piece. Blueprinted and Knife-Edged

CRANK PULLEY : Single Grooved. Lightened and Balanced.

OIL PAN : Stock Pan extensively modified to hold 7 Quarts with Wings and Trap 

          Doors.

TIMING  : Timing Chain converted to Kameari Timing Gears.

Exhaust Driven Negative Evac System for Crankcase

Extensively modified E-31 Cylinder Head

Intake Ports : Fully Ported. Port Floors have been Welded and Ports Raised to give

               straight shot to valves.

Combustion Chambers : Extensively Welded and Re-profiled.

Cam  :  HUGE. Specs will be given to winning bidder.

Valves : 44mm Intake  35mm Exhaust

Cam Gear : Adjustable

Valve Springs : Isky


CARBURATION  :  44 Mikunis

Manifold     :  Mikuni Racing

Velocity Stacks : Special Made Anodized Billet Aluminum.


EXHAUST : Motorsport Auto 6 - 1 Jet Hot Coated Header.

          2 1/2" Collector

          2 1/2" Stainless Steel Straight Pipe into Stainless Muffler.

FUEL PUMP : Carter

IGNITION  : MSD With Tach Adapter

RADIATOR  : Aluminum Champion


Engine has just completed 300 mile Run-In period. All Oils and Fluids have been

changed to Synthetic. Engine has not been Dynoed but is extremely powerful. spins

Tires in all gears except 4th and 5th. Engine can be seen running on YOUTUBE @

CLUTCH  :  Severe Duty Pressure Plate with Solid Unsprung 6 Puck Disk.

        In-Cabin Driver Adjustable Rear Brake Proportioning Valve.

        All Brake and Clutch Lines are Braided Stainless Steel.


RIMS  :

Front :  15 x 7 Two Piece GOTTI's with 225 45 15 Tires. 99% Thread.

Rear  :  15 x 9 Two Piece GOTTI's with 255 45 15 Tires. 95% Thread.


I bought this car 5 years ago as a 90% rust-free running vehicle. Two years was

spent cutting. welding and massaging the Sheet Metal to get it as straight and

rust-free as I possibly could. Car is painted Flat Black ( Acrylic Enamel ). To

give the Engine Compartment that smooth look all Wires & Relays have been 

relocated to under the Dash. Battery has also been relocated. Dash is clean and 

uncracked. Bucket Seats are installed on Sliding Rails so they can be adjusted 

fore and aft.


When I set out to build this car the goal was to incorporate my 22 years

experience in all things Z to build the most uncompromising. cost no object car

that could be built and that is what I did. Nothing was spared and no shortcuts

taken. If parts were not available in the aftermarket I fabricated them myself.

There are a few extremely rare parts on this car that if sold individually could

finance the purchase of another Z by itself namely the GOTTI Rims. BOB SHARP

RACING Valve Cover and Mikuni Racing Intake Manifold.

This is essentially a race car that's registered and can be driven on the street.

Bolt in a Roll Cage and go Vintage Racing. Due to all the time and money spent on

this car it will not be sold cheap but rest assured anyone purchasing this vehicle

will never need another Z Car for the rest of their lives.
