Just for fun. here's a video I made many years ago of my first time with the Camaro at Sears Point Raceway for Wednesday Night Drags. In no way does this video represent the current condition of the body or engine of my Camaro. but it did once run like this. sound like this. and look like this and with some effort she will again.

The story:
I am selling my 1973 Camaro. It DOES NOT RUN and will need to be towed or trailered. and I'm selling as-is. This was my first car. I bought it in 1998. At the time it was green with brown interior. with a severely under-powered 350 V8. 2 barrel carb. single exhaust and bowtie hubcaps. The first thing I did was rough up the paint and primer it gray and buy a set of rally wheels and bowtie center caps. Later I stripped it down to metal. bought a 4" cowl induction hood and a spoiler. and was going to paint it myself. During this process I discovered that both doors are laden with body filler. I tried and failed at reapplying the body filler. gave up and took it to a body shop. I chose Dodge Viper blue with white racing stripes. It took them almost six months to finish. but it looked great! It was not a cheap paint job. but there were defects that appeared later and I had no recourse as the body shop had since gone out of business. Next. I got rid of the front bucket seats and bought budget racing seats. I bought and installed new carpet and sound deadening material. I replaced the center console with one from my buddies '79 so it has useless electric window controls. I dyed all the remaining seats and interior pieces black although some brown is still visible here and there. Around 2000 or 2001 I bought and installed an engine and transmission a buddy of mine had built from the ground up and tested on a stand. but never used. This is the same engine that served me well until 6 years ago when it overheated. I could hear pinging. pulled over immediately and had it towed home. It sat on non-op status for 1 year garaged and sadly the last 5 years in a driveway uncovered. The carpet has faded quite a bit in that time. All in all the Camaro was my daily driver for about 4 years and then driven sporadically over the next 8 years until the engine overheated. It was garaged for the first 13 years I owned it.
Everything wrong:
The overheated 350 may have a blown head gasket. It would start. but it wouldn't run long without dying. No more pinging after initial overheating. There is no battery. no coil and the inner glove box is missing. The glove box door is intact. There is no headliner. This was a smoking car until shortly after I installed the new carpet. The left hand quarter panel is rusted through at two points and either needs replacing or large patch work. On this quarter panel rust bubbles can be seen just under the rear window and in front of the rear tire. Some rust on rear deck lid (where rear speaker mounts). The trunk has rust due to rotted weather stripping. The weather stripping on the doors is in great shape. but needs to be glued in place. The clear coat is pealing badly on the roof and slightly in various other places. The rims. the traction bars. and the chrome tips have developed rust. There is some rust on the bottom of the front lower valence. The driver door needs realignment. You have to push down to open it. but it shuts well. The rearview mirror has fallen off the windshield due to heat and the steering wheel has dripped vinyl onto the driver seat for the same reason. I dyed the interior black. but some of the brown is showing through here and there. The transmission seal broke after sitting for years and leaked fluid.
Despite all that's wrong she's still a looker and I get offers to buy constantly. I haven't taken any offers seriously because I never intended to sell. However. time has marched on and I must finally admit defeat. I just do not have the time to take on this project and must sell.
