Lotus Elan Sprint DHC. August 1971(K).   "Barn-find"!    Bought by previous lady owner from Len Street Ltd. .  Chelsea in London in 1975 the famous Lotus Main Dealers of this great era!    Driven until 1977 and then driven into a garage in Sussex until 2013.    46. 00 miles from new.  Very rare in this original Lotus colour of Colorado Orange.  In need of extensive restoration. but has extremely well preserved trim. so you would not re-trim the seats or door panels.   


 The seats are virtually free of wear and incredible to find in this well preserved condition.   Original engine and all matching numbers.  Original Weber carbs.  The engine currently does not turn. so expect a complete strip-down and rebuild.    All correct instruments and rare original Colin Chapman steering wheel.  This is an ideal restoration project as the car is complete and not a box of bits with parts missing.  The car has a great feel and the chassis still has the factory red-oxide paint finish.  Original steel knock-on wheels.  Original hood-frame etc.  Comes with original Owner's Handbook and Workshop Manual and the last road tax disc from 1977.    Not to be missed if you ever fancied rebuilding a genuine drop-head Sprint with matching numbers.  If you are going to restore an Elan. you might as well go for one of the most desirable models and an Elan Sprint DHC is the one to have!
