Original UK RHD 1963 2-door Ford Cortina MK1. GT replica.
Early original UK 2-door cars are very hard to find and highly desirable.

Being an early car it has a 3 number. 3 letter number plate worth around £3k.
Fitted with a 2-litre pinto with stage 2 head and fast road cam with twin 40's and 5-speed gearbox. Engine just serviced and carbs tuned by Tiger racing who advertise in classic ford mag. Car is approximately 157 bhp.
Agreed valuation certificate issued by Lancaster insurance at £25k.
Disc brakes all round. M16 up front and Sierra Cosworth rear. All braking system is newly fitted and very good at stopping.
Refurbished lotus steels with new tyres.
All chrome replaced and is either new reproduction or new old stock including the door handles. Photos show no rear bumper. the new bumper has now been fitted.

Rear axle is from a lotus cortina.
Rebuilt high capacity rad and electric fan fitted.

Recently had £2500 spent on improvements with Tiger racing (see classic ford). work included;Rear quarter Windows painted body colour. Front and rear arches prep and spray painted body colour. Underneath had some localised repairs and then spray painted black. Rocker box and cam cover painted body colour. New battery tray fitted in boot. Engine. full service and carbs re-tuned.
This car drives really well and is great fun and would cost a fortune to replicate.
The car is in lovely condition which I would class as very. very good especially considering its age and was previously restored. photos included within file of receipts.
Drives better than most and can easily keep up with modern traffic and is a lot faster than a real GT and would cost around £30k if it were a genuine GT and only be half the fun.
MOT until 2017 (May I think)
Only selling as lost storage and struggling to find somewhere else suitable as I already have a number of classic fords. If I resolve before auction ends I will end the listing and will be keeping the car as it is a lovely car and a great investment.
Car is located in Essex.
Can assist with export if required.
