1962 Morris Mini Cooper 997cc reg no. 593FGU

Registered in Feb 1963

Manufactured in Aug 1962

Thanks for looking at the auction for this lovely Morris Mini Cooper. I have a heritage certificate which matches the engine number. chassis number and registration number of the Mini. Stated that it was originally red with a black roof .

I have a copy of the original buff coloured log book which states that it was supplied to the first keeper in Reading who kept it until 1974. It has had nine previous owners during it 50 years and they are all detailed in various copies of the log books. Log book states "Morris Mini Cooper 997cc".

There is quite a lot of receipts and bills with the car. A previous MOT in 1987 shows that the car has only done approx. 2000 miles since. Now showing 35000 miles. It was MOT'd in 2008 but has been dry-stored since.

Some years ago probably 15 or so the Mini was subject to a rebuild where it was stripped back to a bare shell and rebuilt back up again. I have photographic records of this. It looks to have been done to a very high standard.

It has had some upgrades mainly twin fuel tanks. a sump guard . brake servo. cooper 's' master cylinder and cooper 's' 7. 5" discs

The underside of the car was painted body colour and the subframes painted black. The body panels are in excellent condition.

The downside is that. in places. the paintwork is starting to micro-blister. The roof is the worse area. but there are other areas mainly the bonnet and doors. There are a couple of marks on the body from being stored. It is hard to show in the photographs .

The interior of the Mini is lovely. It has what appears to be its original red brocade seats. which have worn extremely well but have a lovely feel to them. Unusual to find a set that haven't been recovered.

. The headlining and door panels are also very good. It has had a new red carpet fitted very well which looks fantastic. It has the original 100mph speedo and NO seatbelts. due to the year of manufacture.

The engine sounds in good health. It has a 12g295 cylinder head. the engine number matches the V5 and I have receipts for new engine parts.

This Mini has a great look and great feel to it. One of the earliest examples of a Mini Cooper. with all original Cooper features and matching numbers. I need not tell you that these cars are in great demand and you can fully understand why.

It will be sold with a full 12months MOT . Took for MOT failed on a couple of loose electric connections and a wheel bearing.

Viewing welcome. Delivery can be arranged.

This is a trade sale . I buy and sell classic cars. Always looking for similar examples.
