For sale is my 1934 Rolls Royce 20/25 Sports Saloon. coachwork by William Arnold of Manchester.

I bought the Rolls as a non-runner in May this year after it had been stored in a barn for over a year. Obviously it hadn't run for at least 10 years before that. In the paperwork I got with the car the mileage of 19. 75 miles was recorded in 1999 when the last MOT was done. After that time the brakes were overhauled in 2001 and the engine was removed and overhauled in 2004.   When I recovered the car from the barn the mileage was19. 55; it has now done 19. 43 miles and will be a little higher by the end of the auction. as I use the car whenever I can. rain permitting.

My first task was to get the engine running.  I removed the sump to check the condition and found the car had new pistons and maybe liners. the crankshaft bearings looked new as well.   A new set of points and carburettor cleaned. with new petrol. and the engine ran. The leather seats were cleaned. fed and re-stained along with the door panels.  A new headlining was fitted and the sunroof stripped and refitted. new carpets fitted and a complete rewire carried out.

I have now done almost 200 miles and kept on tinkering until it ran as it should. I drove it to the classic car show in Sleaford a couple of weeks ago. where lots of people had their pictures taken with the car including the Mayor of Sleaford (you can see the car on You Tube under Sleaford historic car show).

Lots more has been done to the car in the short time I have owned it. too much to list on here. It really needs to be painted to make it a great car.

I am selling as a house move is imminent and having 6 cars means I have to reluctantly downsize my fleet quickly.    The Rolls is the obvious one to be sold as it is 17ft long and takes up too much space.   If I don't sell the car I will have to sell 2 of my other classics L.

Although the car is running well I recommend it is transported away as it is a beast to drive on cross-ply tyres and I have only had the car up to 50mph because I'm sure the engine is still running in.

The car is available for viewing at any time as I am retired; all messages will be answered and I will ring you back if you leave a contact number. All serious buyers will come and check the car before they bid. which I encourage.   Anyone with less than 10 positive feed-backs should contact me before making a bid.

The winning bidder needs to contact me within 24 hours with a view to collecting the car within seven days – unless an alternative agreement is reached.   Payment to be made by banker's cheque or bank transfer before the car is released.

Many thanks for looking. happy bidding.
