LHD 1972 GTV 2000 Veloce

2 Years/1000 miles since total rebuild

Ground up rebuild of left hand drive shell using LHD parts where necessary and a right hand drive donor vehicle.

105 Alfisti will agree that the left hand drive versions of these cars are a far better driving experience. the right hand drive versions being a bit of a compromise - the original design pendulum pedal box would not fit the RHD cars (no space due to carburettors) leading to the unsatisfactory modified floor hinged pedal arrangement.

The car has benefitted from the following;-

Full bare metal re-spray

Rebuilt Nord engine- new pistons. liners. rings. all bearings. valves. valve guides. water pump- now done just over 1. 00 miles

Rebuilt Weber dcoe 40's

Rebuilt gearbox- June 2013

Rebuilt brakes. new pads. pipes. servo. master cylinder.

Recon radiator

New Clutch including new master and slave cylinders

New window seals

New front grille. headlights and all badges

New headlining and carpets

New fuel tank. sender and pump

All bushes. drive shaft doughnut and most ball joints replaced

New springs front and rear- although these are going to be changed to slightly shorter ones as the car sits a bit high.

Bilstein gas shocks. braided hoses. competition exhaust manifold and piper cross air filter- original filter box supplied if preferred

History dating from it's import in mid 1980's

Only negative points are small amount of spidering under paint to edges of bonnet- but you have to look closely to notice and it doesn't show up in photographs
