For sale in our Houston showroom is one awesome 1968 Chevrolet El Camino SS. Not many know that this vehicle was first debuted in 1959 and lasted until 1987 with only 4 short years on hiatus. While Gunsmoke was on CBS and Sugar Sugar by The Archies was on the radio. this El Camino was cruising done the street brand new! Equipped with its numbers matching 396 CID V8. this engine has more than enough to muscle it along. Backing the humongous engine is the original Turbo 350 3 speed automatic transmission. Both the engine and trans have just 3200 miles on them since they were rebuilt. In actuality. the engine is a new GM Performance engine that is still making its way through the break in period. Following the drive train is a new 12 Bolt TrueTrac rear-end with 3. 08 gears for great cruising efficiency. Now this El Camino has no problem cruising at 75 mph highway speed. Don't worry about low end torque either. the big block 396 engine has plenty of it on tap. Options include: A/C. CD player. power brakes. power steering. tilt wheel. seat belts. vinyl interior. numbers are matching and rally wheels wrapped in radial tires. The power brakes and steering make this classic ride enjoyable anywhere you desire. Recently added FlowMaster exhaust system really turns heads.
