The story so far from what i can work out is that there have been 4 previous owners of this 68/69 Rover 2000. The car was built for export but was delivered to its first owner a Mr PGT Whitehead in early 1969 to a small town in Scotland called Ashkirk. According to the service book the car remained there and serviced by the selling Dealer Hawick Motor Co till late 1969. The next few services looked to be signed by the owner who i assume brought the car to Australia in 1970 as the registration paper list the car as a 1970 model. When exactly the car changed to the second owner i'm not to sure but the third owner purchased the car about 4 years ago from a car club member who had the car on Conditional registration for some time. the third owner had the car Blue Slipped and used it as an every day driver up until about a year ago when he sold it on. The next owner new nothing about cars but just liked the look of it. unfortunately it was not practicle for him so he moved it on soon after purchasing it. He was actually quite surprised that i was going to drive it home when i purchased the car. i seem to think he thought it would not make the long drive home.  Well it did make it home and cruised great on the freeway.

The car itself presents well. over the years there have been some panels painted but overall its pretty consistent. There are some humidity blisters that have popped on the boot lid around the number plate which you might be able to see in the pics. I can't seem to find any major rust apart from some surface type here and there. The boot floor under the rubber mat is all good and clean and the original jack is still there along with a 1970's foot pump. The interior looks great. at some point the carpet has been replaced along with the door trims. the top of the back seat and rear pacel shelf. All these have been done very well and really make the car stand out. The radio has been retro fitted with an FM receiver and two rear speakers have been installed on the back shelf but no holes have been cut and the original single front speaker is still operational.

Mechanically the goes great. it blows no smoke and does'nt leave puddles of oil on my driveway and the hand brake even works. Recently i've had it serviced. had the brake master cylinder rebuilt. new front brake pads and two new brake hoses on the rear. As far as i can remember all the lights and guages work apart from the temp guage which only works some of the time. I've never had a problem with overheation or running hot even with the sometimes not working temp guage. The car still has the original key which operates all the locks except for the fuel lid and according the log book the car still retains its original engine. The car is fitted with a matching set of Bridgestone tyres and is registered in NSW till October 2013. The car comes with the original owners manual and maintenance manual.

The car is located in the lower Blue Mountains and inspection are welcome. I can arrange interstate freight at buyers expense if needed but i'm pretty confident the car will take you anywhere if you chose to drive it home. I'm only selling this car to fund a new storage facility but if i sell something else i may not have to sell this one after all.

Thanks For Looking & Happy Ebaying !!
