Mk2s like this one don't come up for sale very often. A fantastic. well sorted gentleman's express with numerous sensible upgrades to make this one of the best 3. 4s available.

You'll agree she looks superb in unmarked deep dark blue paint.   The body is in excellent order. very straight with no rust or blemishes anywhere. perfectly complimented by the sporty Coombs style rear spats and excellent chrome all around. And what a great number plate too - very fitting.

The quality continues inside with excellent grey leather upholstery trimmed with blue piping. blue carpets. a perfect headlining and lots of beautifully restored wood making this a very satisfying place to be. Comfortable too. thanks to the upgraded XJ6 reclining seats with headrests. inertia reel seat belts front and rear and a 4 speaker CD Radio with automatic aerial. This car also benefits from perfectly functioning electric front windows and central locking.

On the road this Mk2 feels great. refined but sporty. it holds the road very well thanks to the fully rebuilt suspension.   It stops well with assistance from a new servo and fully rebuilt braking system and it steers very well thanks to the power assisted rack and pinion steering conversion.

You'll need that excellent chassis too because the engine really goes!  It feels much more like a strong 3. 8 than a 3. 4 which is no doubt the result of the lightened and balanced VSE engine. built with E Type straight port big valve head and high lift cams. all breathing through 2" SUs.   And the drive isn't let down by the ponderous Moss box as this has been changed for a fully rebuilt 4 synchro gearbox with rebuilt overdrive.

Other mechanical improvements include a Kenlowe electric fan. high output alternator conversion. 123 electronic ignition distributor. stainless steel exhaust system and upgraded heater.

GAS 196 was restored 16 years ago and the quality shows as she still looks and drives brilliantly well. This is a well known local club car and has been a regular exhibitor at local shows over the last few years by the current owner.   Regular fastidious maintenance and care has kept it reliable and in excellent condition.

Take advantage of this rare opportunity. she won't hang around long at this very sensible asking price.

Viewing and a test drive is strongly encouraged. you won't be disappointed.
