This is a listing for the above vehicle which I am reluctantly putting up for sale. Unfortunately as I will shortly be moving out of the area in order to care for my elderly mother. I will no longer have the facilities to store and rebuild this vehicle.  
I purchased the vehicle 3 years ago with the intention of having it fully resprayed in opalescent blue. however I was aware that despite it running reasonably well the big end bearings had gone and that the engine would need to be removed to enable a crank re-bore etc. I decided while the engine was out of the vehicle I would strip the engine bay completely so that the bay could be resprayed. This included the removal of all paint and the tar substance used between the paint and primed metal which has now been 95% completed and was a big job in itself. The crank was re-bored by a local head specialist who also skimmed the head etc. All receipts for this are available and I will include in the photos. I painted the block in the correct black paint for this model and the head in duck egg blue as per the original spec. All parts removed from the engine bay have been cleaned and where applicable sandblasted. and polished parts sanded with 800 grade then 1500 grade sandpaper then polished with autosol. The exception to this is the airflow box which preferably needs sandblasting before it is painted.  The engine was dismantled and rebuilt by classic car specialist Neil Alsop of Haddenham (see photo) once the crank and head work were complete.  Due to other commitments including commuting to look after elderly parents and the arrival of a first child. it has not been possible for me to complete the work. The vehicle is stored at Cropley Green Bodyshop (formerly Cropley Green Classic Cars of Ely) who have been of huge assistance in helping with the work carried out so far.  
When purchased the vehicle had recently been fitted with new headlinings and carpets. The seats are in very good condition with no rips or excessive wear. They are also in blue and are fully reclining and are apparently quite rare. The car bodywork is in very good condition with no rot to the panels or to the underside of the car which is amazingly solid for its age. The paintwork is a bit tired in places with the slightest bit of rust to the bottom of two doors and to the edge of the boot plus there is a small amount of paint removed on the top of the right front wing caused by paint thinner (my fault).  
As you can see from the photos. the last bit of preparation work is now needed to the engine bay and for it to then be resprayed. the engine re-fitted and all other parts reassembled. All parts are present with the exception of a few nuts and bolts. however a new fuel line will need to be fitted (very cheap) as I had to cut the old one away. It is also suggested that new brake pipes are fitted. When the car is sold I will supply a CD with photos of the engine bay prior to components being removed to aid in reassembly.  
Once I have added all the photos they will include the reassembled engine. the vehicle prior to being dismantled. the vehicle as it currently exists and a selection of the removed parts. If you wish to see any further photos please ask. however a viewing of the vehicle is strongly recommended.  
Please bear in mind that the engine is not currently in the vehicle and the purchaser will need to transport this and the vehicle separately. All components that would normally be contained within the engine bay will also need to be transported separately including the twin exhausts.  
History: This jaguar was originally registered in March 1963. To the best of my knowledge it was originally in gunmetal grey. During the 1980s it was bought by an army officer who took the vehicle to Germany. It is thought that during his ownership that it was resprayed white. It returned to the UK and was re-registered in 1998. The original registration document from the 1960s is present.
