1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC LHD - 62k Miles (99k KM) - FSH - Superb

A high-specification. low mileage example of the coveted 560SEC coupé with an interesting history.
This Blue-Black 560SEC was purchased new from Mercedes Longchamps. Paris on 18th August 1988 by General Pierre de Bénouville. It remained with him at his Champs-Élysées home until his death in 2001.
Bénouville was an interesting character; one of the leading figures of the French Resistance during WW2. and one of only three combatants to achieve the rank of general during the war. In 1944 he fought with de Gaulle in Algeria and after the war was promoted to Major General.
The 560 remained in Paris. covering just 62k miles (99k km) with a Full Service History from Mercedes Longchamps and a Paris-based MB specialist. Receipts show that there has been significant recent expenditure ensuring the car remains in the correct condition.
This is a high-specification car with climate control. rear blind. Becker Mexico and twin airbags. The only non-standard part is the car phone. fitted when the car was near new. This fits the period perfectly so we have left it in place.
The Blue-black bodywork is unmarked and arrow straight with perfect bumper chromes. Similarly. the underside is corrosion free thanks to the salt-free Paris roads.
Inside the black leather is in superb order. the carpets unmarked and protected by over-mats and all accessories work as intended. including the climate control.
The 560 was always noted for its hugely increased urge over the already fast 500SEC. as well as its substantial premium in price. This car does not disappoint. driving beautifully with all the potency and refinement for which these cars were noted.
All original books/manuals/service book. spare key and tools come with the car together with a file of invoices detailing work carried out. The car is currently French registered but we can register in the UK should the buyer wish.
The C126 SEC coupé. particularly with the 560 engine. is one of the iconic Mercedes of the 80s. This example ticks every box with fabulous provenance. low mileage. full history and exemplary condition.
