We offer for sale our 1973 Triumph TR-6

Relative to other quickly appreciating and now beyond affordable British sports cars (E-types. Healey 3000's etc). we believe these to be under-valued and soon to be appreciating as well because they offer throaty 6 cylinder power. timeless styling. and greater ease of ownership.

Our example is especially attractive because of its excellent interior and exterior condition.  The paint is of a very high level professionally applied quality.  We did not perform the respray. but it is obvious that it was prepared properly with all lights. mouldings and glass having been removed. and NOT merely masked off. Absolutely beautiful with a few very minor fish eyes upon  very close scrutiny. the paint shines and shows very well and would be competitive at any local show.   The body panels are smooth. blemish free. and flat as pancakes-absolutely no rust nor dents.   The body lines/gaps and panel fit are all excellent and probably aligned to a standard higher than new. Additionally. the bottoms of both doors fit flush with the rest of the body panels (a feature that we rarely see on other TR-6's).  Both chrome bumpers are dent free.

The interior can best be described as nearly new.  The seats. carpets. and door panels are all excellent.  It is only the wood dash that shows a few blemishes and patina from age and exposure. It is still attractive and certainly acceptable. but it is not perfect.

Mechanically. our Triumph is road ready right now!  A recent carburetor rebuild and tune-up insure easy startups both hot and cold.  We have driven it recently in summer weather-NO overheating issues. just smooth seamless power! The only issue bearing mention is a rotational noise when the clutch is engaged (pedal not depressed).  We believe it to be a throw-out bearing. however. we are not experts and have not removed the transmission to verify the throw out bearing condition. Subsequently. we will include a brand new "in the box" clutch kit with the sale. The clutch engages properly. the car pulls. shifts and drives as it should. We have driven it everywhere.  The engine idles properly. revs perfectly. and the car has that classic TR-6 exhaust note that still thrills. The steering is precise. the brakes operate properly and suspension reacts as it should.

The engine compartment is clean. tidy and rust-free.  It is not detailed to show standards. but could easily be beautified. as it appears as a clean. well respected engine compartment that shows occasional road use. The trunk is rust-free and tidy as well.

Purchase this car knowing that the frame. floors and body mounts are all RUST FREE.  This car is safe. pretty and ready to be driven right now. Please know that the tires are showing thin tread and we have left the choice of replacement to the next owner as the originality vs performance decision is very personal.

We do not have the radio. however we do have new side panels and new speakers.

It is a lack of indoor storage that forces us to sell.  It has always been garaged during our ownership. and during the previous owner's possession. It is far to nice to be left outside. and deserves to be properly protected from the elements.
